Does anyone know if potions of longevity have any effect at all? I know they are suposed to increase your characters life, but does it work?

My human wizard has drank 75 blessed potions of longlivity (ya I'm crazy + easy recipe), then I dranks some cursed potion of youth to see the effect, turned out that my character becomes middle aged it 42, but thats normal for a human, so did the potions have no effect at all? or do they only save you wrong actualy dieing, so my character would become very old at 75 and then stay alive until 150 or so?

It increases only the maximum age - the young, grown-up, middle-aged, old and very old "checkpoints", are always the same, while the max age is random

Spoiler
(40+10d8 in case of humans)

For more info, check in the Guidebook, chapter 0.1.2

Spoiler
Blessed potions of longevity increases your max age by about 20 years per potion, not bad at all if you drink about 3 of them your chance of agin to death is much smaller. this is extra usefull for orcs and trolls.

I also found out that you have to be atleast "very old" before you'll die from old age, that means that you'll have to be 80 for a human before you'll die from old age, even if the game rolled your max age lower than 80.
