Mine was a dark elven thief, never got an orb, never got healing, died in the mountains after hundreds of days past, corrupted into primal chaos.
I know a bit more now :)

Was it a dwarven mindcrafter? That's the first I remember. I managed to win via savescumming. My first and only savescum win.

I don't think he was actually the *first* one, for first, um, dozen died before i discovered that beginer's trick :)

offtop: Thanks to Jan's kindness I've restored my account password :)

Quite frankly, no. I don't remember it at all. It has been buried in my memory by the corpses of hundreds of other hapless adventurers.

Sorry :P

Knowing me it would have been a grey elven wizard, back in gamma 10 or so. I savescummed one of those to victory back when I started playing the game. 7 years on I still can't claim a legitimate victory :(

Definitely a human fighter -I wanted something to learn the ropes with. Didn't take me long to learn how to back up a save file -quite useful. In fact the only way I've found to make any sort of progress at all. I'm amazed that people can refrain from doing so and at times convinced that no-one realy does.
Anywho I've since learned that Wizards are the way to go... Elven wizards of some sort. "scumming" or not I've never gotten anything else past the CoC graveyard. Except Wizards always run into an impass in the Mana temple...

No idea. But I do remember the closest thing to a save-scum win. It was an orcish barbarian in some early gamma (it didn't have vortices, so before gamma 10). I almost won, but got corrupted to death on D:48, because I didn't know how to get past D:49. I thought I needed spiked boots :D And yes, I did use a wish to get a pair, but ended up as a WMoPC before I got to the stairway again.

ChAoSMuFfIiN: Can you really do that?

My first character was a grey elven monk. I thought it was cool - hey, an elf monk!

I died pretty quick...

My first guy... probably a wizard or something. I'd known actually a bit. My brother played it alot (he has Stephen the human wizard in the HoF) and he told me fighters and stuff really aren't for beginners. No healing,he probably got about a dungeon level two or died in the wilderness. I've gotten alot farther over the course of 5 years. Still trying to win and get even with my bro...
Homework is not meant for home! It's a sick verbal coincidence!
