I'm probably getting carried away, but I have a shot at an ultra ending. I'm going for a Avatar of Order (less corruption, so easier).
What I need to know is how to kill Andor Drakon with a Wizard.
I still have time to prepare, currently lvl 38, have yet to do Stone Circle, Library, Quickling tree, BugCav.
Have saved all lawful quests, ie Hotzen, puppy, blup etc, so alignment will be as easy as possible.
Have seven league boots, day 69. 5 corruptions, but 9 scrolls of chaos resistance, more to come from library.
Acid Ball, which I used to kill him in a scummed game, is barely trained.
Down side is no scroll of danger, used last wish on more chaos resistance, so could have issue there.
Oh, Cat Lord already wasted, currently working on the temples (not Mana though, will leave for a while yet)

IMO, easiest way to kill Andor Drakon (for just about any character) is the TotRR and/or twins. I have never found it particularly difficult to slay Andy in melee (once the proper precautions have been taken) - although slaying ammo will do just fine as well. I would avoid the use of acid ball (and just about any other spell) since it makes Andy more powerful - although *really* highly trained acid ball may be worthwhile.

I'd find a decent bow and get that trained up. See and arrow, pick it up. If you can afford a little time, do some arrow pilfering from the barbarians on the plains. Then let Andy have it with your best humanoid/unerring/slaying/penetration arrows, before finishing him off in melee.

I've never fought Andy but Executor tends to take all the fight out of humanoid enemies :)

Make sure you bless any weapons and use either humanoid or demon slayers on him. Meleeing is not a risk I personally like to take, but the option's open to you - TotRR works beautifully.

Bow training it is then.
I have a date with the mana temple coming up, then I'm off to live in the wilderness for a little while.
Archery will be thoroughly trained prior to entry through the gate.
Of course the scintilating cave, stone circle, and lvl 50 could all still come to haunt me.

Level fifty is easy to get. Or wait, can you go down to D50 before doing other quests? If not, I'd say stay in wilderness or BDC to get exp and bow skills/ maybe some good things from BDC.

2 Jules:
well actually killing the bastard with *blessed* humanoid slaying arrows will require ~40 direct hits (with Bows at ~13-14) so it takes time anyway.
and indeed it's *not* recommended to face him in melee due to his nasty stat drain and what not (he actually can perform almost all magic attacks in the game including death ray, petrify and paralyze)
All roads lead to chaos, in the end.

I have never had any problems facing Andy in melee, even with non-melee specialist characters. I find that he usually spends most of his time casting darkness and summoning monsters. And when he attacks, more often than not he misses or inflicts little damage - stat draining seems to be pretty random in my experience since he has badly stat drained some of my characters but left others alone. Provided you have the requisite resistances (especially paralysation and confusion) you shouldn't have too many problems defeating Andy in melee.
