Hey, my Drakeling bard learns the spells cast by wands of wonder. Is this unusual? It's very convenient though when it the wand casts something like wish or acidball..... |

Yes, that's supposed to happen. Unfortunately, you don't get a whole lot of castings from doing so. Still, it's good for things like teleportation or invisibility, which really don't depend on the level of the skill for effectivity. A good tactic for characters that aren't natural casters (especially the likes of barbarians and mindcrafters) is to keep recharging and using wands of wonder to get a good repetoir of spells and rely on book-casting for certain essential spells like Teleportation. I've never heard of anyone getting a wish from a wand of wonder before, though I have gotten the spell from a potion of wonder. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

Very good for mindcrafters. They should seriously consider the book-casting talents for this trick. And wands of wonder aren't totally rare, and they are not that hard to recharge either.... |
