"Awk, the trollish necromancer, was killed by a coin thrown by Barnabas, the human shopkeeper." I can see it now, as i cast lightning in his store than tried to run away, he chucks a coin at my head. Thats the beauty of this game, imagination!! |

Yeah, props to Thomas Biskup for the imagination of this game. Those coins can do several hundred damage, it's scary. Homework is not meant for home! It's a sick verbal coincidence! -My brother |

Moral of the story. Never mess with a shopkeeper, or the stuff he owns. ---- Ladies and Gentleman, take my advice. Pull down your pants and slide on the ice. Ladies and Gentleman, take my advice. Pull down your pants, and slide on the ice. |

Good thing you can do it too... if you're a high level merchant. ;P A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

am i tottaly wrong or throwing coins increases very slow? something like one to hit or one to damage for level. always thought coins arte most effective at low levels. A root is a flower that disdains fame. Kahlil Gibran(1883-1931) |

Yeah, coins are pretty useless at high levels, except maybe when you want to get a doppelganger's attention. Which is why the Fling the Bling challenge is such a hard one to do... Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

Coin tossing all the way. You may not hurt or kill monsters by any other method. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

would be too easy. as far as i remember original rules - no saccing of creatutes, no wands hurting monsters and so on. only coins are allowded. the only discount was for accidental stepping on fireball and explosive runes. i gave up this just after thought of earth temple. actually i don't imagine way to get past ACW. Well, one way that may work is if you find a ring of weakness or get the ape corruption and abuse them to max out your strength (just enter a wilderness square and keep waiting - exit and use survival as needed). Does high strength help with the coin-tossing ability? Still, high-PV monsters do seem impossible. against PV you can cross fingers for criticals. bastards with natural regeneration is going to kill you. you can lure earth elementals out of temple and teleport them away. long process but possible. I don't believe you can kill ancient stone beast. even with speed over 300 and all stats maxed out. Spoiler testing with greater molochs doesn't revieled any way to stop natural regeneration. they regenerate even blind, stunned, confused and paralyzed alltogether. Haven't tried thowing cursed potions of troll blood yet. just becouse this idea come while writing the post. i doubt it, but i'll test it later. A root is a flower that disdains fame.
