Did you know that you may actually DECREASE you litteracy skill by eating a dark sage corpse? Happen to me the other day, twice. Literacy was at 100 and I eat one, just to see what would happen. Bummer! I eat a second one (was on the Banshee level) and it decrease even more, down to 76.

Just wanted to let you know.

That must have been a cursed corpse, AFAIK it depends on the BUC status.

Yeah, it's nice for Barbarians to find one of those corpses, prevents the artifact from being generated, so precrowns aren't as rushed

and did you know you can put literacy skill to sero with cursed dark sages?

skill is described as unskilled you fail to read any scrolls, but don't loose neither them, nor skill in skill list. so you can fix things at next levelup.

it wasn't funny for my character.

edit: under certain circumstances you might wanna put dark sage corpse into shop. then get potion of literacyand only then eat it. gives you extra artifact to feed ratling.

....but also may lessen/slow a precrown.Besides, I find it not too hard to find petty artifacts.Casino is considered morally wrong, so that's always a possibility. Just thought I'd throw that out there

3 levels is nothing unless you also trigger the Moonscythe, the golden gladius etc.
And just as a clearance for anybody who needs to keep a corpse but doesn't want it to rot. Rotten=cursed, so if you bless the corpse once in a while, it will never rot. (AFAIK)

The Remove Curse spell works great as a preservative for corpses, whilst also regularly training mana.

Confirmation on BB: Yes, rotten does equal cursed, my dwarvish priest went to get keethrax, killed him , everytime it started to rot, it had turned cursed, so I cast remove curse on it.That would make a cool item:Ziploc Bag:D
