If you go to the Stories forum, the thread listing screen says that the last post in the "ADOM Role-Play" thread was by Amanda on Saturday. However, if you click on that thread and go to the last page, the last visible post is still HicPotBoy's. I am using Netscape, and it doesn't make any difference whether I'm logged in or not, or whether I go straight to page 4 or click through pages 2 and 3 first. I hope Jan can explain what's happening here.

Yeah, ok, I see what the problem is...

A slight mis-calculation, I was dividing by 30 instead of 29 (I always repeat the last message from the previous page at the start of a new page for the sake of continuation, so there are actualy only 29 messages to each page). I didn't catch it before because the difference wasn't big enough to cause any problems before we got over 4 pages...

Things seem to work ok now...

AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! Jan, is there someway of not timing out one's login, or of not blanking the 'Message' entry field when one hits submit?

For the umpteenth time, I lost an entire post because when I hit "submit", I get the complaint that 'Caladriel' is already registered by another user. When I hit the back button, to try to retrieve my post, the entry field is blank.

I am thinking of posting as "Lazy Cal" full time.

Try this: Before using the back button, highlight the text you've typed and copy it to the clipboard. Then if you're faced with a blank window, you can paste it right back in.

You mean before I hit the 'submit' button. That works fine if I remember to do it each and every time I submit.

I would recomend using the "remember password" feature. If someone is using the computer after you just click on the "Forget login info" link before you leave to logg out and clear the cookie...
