My newbie questions are getting a little more advanced...

What is the sword of Nonnack? Andy Williams' page says that any character before level 15 can get it.

You get the Platinum Girdle from not committing any chaotic act, right? Where do you get it? And doesn't the Avatar of Order ultra ending require you to commit chaotic acts?

How exactly do you become an avatar of order/balance? The walkthrough made it sound like you have to do chaotic quests.

I just recently realized that the rune-covered trident and the ToRR aren't the same thing. (still a newbie...). The rune-covered one is the one you get for finding Blup's mom, right? I know it takes a long time to get, but how do you get it?

Ok let me try to answer all those questions as brief as I can.
This is really spoily even for the spoiler forum.

Spoiler

I thouht youd know this one.Since youve finished the game.
The sword of Nonnak is found in Griff's grave in the Dwarven graveyard.Just dig up his grave with a pickaxe or WoD.You find the sword in his remains.A great weapon for Mindcrafters n spellcasters since in give Wi+5

I'm not sure bout the Platinum girdle.Dougy should be able to answer that question.

All ultra endings require you to commit chaotic acts such as killing farmers etc.Plus Gabbabay n the demented ratling help only chaotics.

The procedure for transforming into an avatar is too huge to write here.Mebbe a more specific question. Most of it is in the guidebook anyway.

About the rune covered trident. Its quite difficult to see it in a common game unless youre starsign is Raven. After enough number of turns have passed a (greater) water elemental pops out of nowhere and says something like "This is your reward for being kind to Blup." or something to that effect.
IMO it isnt really worthwhile waiting for the rune covered trident because you might lose the 50000 turns score bonus.Unless you have Grand mastery in pole arms or somethin.

Rather than clicking on the abowe link copy this into your browsers location field and it should work:

I've got the rune-covered trident almost always when I reach level 40... I thought it would have only a level requirement, not turn based requirement... was I wrong? but I usually play just coz I want to finish the game, not for the score and I spend usually too much time at the wilderness... but I think it wouldn't be possible to get lev.40 and enough turns to get the trident at the same time... I'll experiment this thing a bit. or you just prove me wrong or something...

Nope, don't ask me about the platinum girdle... my attempts at getting it have failed.

I heard that you've not only gotta not do anything bad you've gotta do good tasks aswell... save khelly is critical i heard... I've asked a million questions on this topic and nobody seems to know.

A crash course in ultra endings -

First kill, make it something unique - eg. goodwifes. (Do not get crowned - get precrowned definately) Get an AoLS, give that to khelly, when you want to go past.

Play normally until you have obtained PoCC, scroll of danger, wand of monster creation, giant boar skull, 6 sacrificable artefacts. There's no reason to change alignment until all of these are obtained.

Get urself chaotic - give 6 artefacts to the demented ratling. Give PoCC, SoD, WoMC, GBS, and a farmer corpse (lure a farmer out of terinyo if necessacary) to the crone in the HMV.

Get urself crowned & get sting by killing the Blue Wyrm, not the Ancient Karmic Wyrm. Get to level 45, carry sting, and talk to the assassin prince, then kill him if you wish. Kill filk, talk to mad minstrel, kill emperor moloch, give crumpled scroll to khelly in Terinyo (must be non-chaotic).

Kill multi headed chaos dragon - stone circle must be entered during darknight, which means days 1, 31, 61 or 91... and so forth.

Wear the crown medal and trident and enter the chaos gate (D:50) (must be extremely corrupted if neutrally/chaotically aligned). Kill andor.

---
Sounds easy ey?... Well once you complete that there's a "true avatar of order" challange game (as i like to call it), where you can't commit a chaotic act.

You must start chaotic - and not make any chaotic acts the entire game. I attempted this and it was loads of fun, because at the beginning of the game you can't get to neutral until you've given up 6 artefacts and 5 rare items.

Which means you can't commit chaotic or lawful acts. Obtaining the black torc, ring of the high kings, anhk + AMW is a lawful act. Rolfs companion can't be obtained without being lawful. Getting the sword of nonnak is a chaotic act. Getting precrowned chaotic is a chaotic act.

Thanks, everyone. :-)

But Dougy, aren't some of the quests required for the ultra ending chaotic?

nope - farmer corpse can be obtained using a companion to kill them (i did it once)

(though i'm not sure if it's a chaotic act to obtain the medal and passage to the stone circle)

I wonder, would it be even theoretically possible to be the opposite of a true Avatar of Order - win the game, or even become a Chaos God, without ever committing a lawful act? I know UCG is out because saving Khel is lawful. Is killing Orb guardians lawful too?

AFAIK, killing any chaotically or neutrally aligned creature is considered a lawful act.

Chaos god is definately possible... (and completed a few times (last YAVP i saw was two years ago))

Killing chaotic creatures that are considered to be significantly stronger then you is a lawful act.

Eg. Killing steel golems when your level 20 will give you a lawful boost. But when your level 50 it wont affect you.

I tested killing strong neutral creatures (killer bugs, big casino guards) while being chaotic or lawful... and killing them can change your alignment towards neutrality (ie chaotic act for lawfuls, lawful act for chaotics) (not always though)... killing neutral creatures while neutral has no affect.

Dougy, I think obtaining the Medal of Chaos is a chaotic act - I just did Gaab-Baay's quests, and when she put down the medal and disappeared I felt as if transgressing some law. I guess that means you can't be a true Avatar of Order who never does anything chaotic. You probably can't be an Avatar of Order with the Platinum Girdle either (IIRC, one of the criteria for getting it is not doing any chaotic quests).
