Has anyone managed to get normal spellbooks by dipping spellbooks into !ofExchange ? I have tried it twice with some no-so-useful spellbooks in the hope of getting something useful. First time I got a tract of chaos, the next time (IIRC) tract of balance. Or is it that !oEx dipping of spellbooks ALWAYS results in tracts of chaos/balance/order ? |

I tried dipping various books in !oEx. Apparently, any non-spellbook will transform into a spellbook (it can be one with a spell you haven't learned yet) and any spellbook will transform into a non-spellbook. Here's what I got. Bridge Building -> Spellbook of Revelation Confucius' works -> Spellbook of Light Spellbook of Light-> Confucious' Works Spellbook of Revelation-> Confucious, again. if you dip for EG a spellbook of light in to a BLESSED potion of exchange, you will get a NEW book. you will get the message "you are surprised at the change in your spellbook, you droop the book" <acording to my own games and the Andy Williams guidebook> this does not seem to be a certainty, but blessed spellbooks of WISH and Lightlning bolt have been found this way the only constant is the potion of exchange must be blessed.... in my opinion save them for just that reason there are other ways of raising stats...asuming your a wizzard who is skipping the lib. |

Do items dipped in PoE always turn into same kind of item (wand=wand, Spellbook=Spellbook) or can for example torch turn into a ring ?? |
