What's the best/worst backgrounds you've had generated for your characters? I rolled a hurthling monk, who got this:

Your parents were poor people. They loved you and cared for you, though you had to hunger more than once.
As a child you had to survive pretty harsh times since your parents seemed to have run out of luck. Their wealth was ever-declining and times were very hard.
In your youth you became seriously ill and suffered for many years. When your disease finally was cured you were left weakened, both physically and spiritually, and bereft of the joys of youth.
As a young adult you had to work a lot to finance your apprenticeship. You were often tired and exhausted but all this was forgotten, when you finally achieved your goal.
You decided to become a monk.

My starting stats are:
St:10 Le:9 Wi:10 Dx:15 To:17 Ch:7 Ap:10 Ma:3 Pe:11

Pretty bad, but could be worse I think. At least I got a [0, +3] robe.
If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.

1 line - no idea
2 - tortured by parents
3 - ill and suffered
4 - pondered for long time before making decision

i actually scummed for this. Was trying to roleplay sick human girl assassin going without healing (or Candle birthsign) for all game. Was fun. And not short.

Embittered and harsh old master would be the worst for 4 I would have thought.
Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse."
