Well in my last game I found a pool very early and recieved the invisibility intinsic. Becasue of this I robbed a shop before talking to the master thief. Instead of giving me the pick pocket skill he simply asked me to prove my worth now I have a few questions. Is the rob a shop way counted by how many times shops are robbed or by the amount stolen? Not in my last game, but I know it was in the last few games I played, the Casino shopkeeper would not let me leave after purchasing more than I won in the Casino. I know this for a fact becasue my character eventually died of starvation because I had no money and the shopkeeper kept telling me I owed the guild more money. Is this an amount of what I have stolen from shops? I know I had robbed *a lot* of shops before that. Well anyways my new character is a gnomish weaponsmith that has gotten pre-crowned with protector. It took many tries to get a little gnome up to a decent level, but now that I have that shield I hope to be able to do a second precrown before I generate the si. I am level 11 and still have not saved village carpenter. |

> Instead of giving me the pick pocket skill he > simply asked me to prove my Always get the pickpockets skill first... THEN rob the black market. Yergius and Barnabus have a 'special' relationship. We won't ask too many questions about that. Yergius won't teach the pickpocketing skill to anyone who does Barnabus wrong, but Barnabus gives a 50% discount to anyone who kills Yergius. It doesn't seem fair somehow. > Casino shopkeeper would not let me leave after This is most likely due to corruption. You may have had 'mana battery', thus causing damage to the shops wands upon picking them up. You also may have had 'poison hands', thus changing the shop's potions to poison, upon picking them up. Any damage caused in this way must be payed to the shopkeeper before you can leave the shop. Normally, you can teleport out, but in the casino it is not allowed... unless you make the shopkeep hostile. Put me in the 'fool filter', where I belong! |

If you rob any shop before speaking to Yergius then you must prove yourself by shop robbing instead of by pick pocketing. It'll be counted by number of items, since each item picked up undetected is another successful theft. Not sure how many thefts you have to make though... Good luck in succeeding with that! Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |
