I created an elven wizard, and attempted to rush the puppy dungeon. So, I'm level 1, ONE kill [which actually almost killed me because I forgot to learn me spells]. So, I memorize my spells, still at low hp, and about to open my very first door [about six squares away?] I see a fireball right where the door was [apparently, someone tried to open a door]. I was one square away from certain death. So, relieved that I didn't die, I try to open the door. Locked - yeah, I figured - it was trapped. I kick the door, and I killed myself from breaking my leg. This thread is really in the wrong place. It should be in the ADOM subforum, or in the Spoiler subforum if you want spoily responses. Don't see why you didn't wait to heal before kicking that door if you thought there's be a trap. Personally I avoid the puppy cave initially anyway - I don't care about saving the mutt if it means risking a nice new PC. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |
