This is the first time I have seen an ingot
with a prefix. Has anyone else ever encountered
this? Would it be possible to make one of my
iron weapons 'poisonous' by forging it with this?
I have just found it on D:44, in the Earth Temple.
I don't think I would make the trip back to
Dwarftown for it, but maybe on the way back. My
present PC is a trollish weaponsmith, so it
would be fun, if it works.

I seem to recall somebody melting pre- and suffixed items into ignots and reporting that they retain the descriptions, although they work like any other ignot.
They do not grant anything special to the smithed weapon.

Yeah, it's just that melting an item with pre/suffix into ingots will retain the foofixes in the ingots. In couple of my victory posts I have actually tried to get as many weird ingots as possible, though as I haven't won with a weaponmaster yet I haven't got any other way than using fire spells on iron items hoping they won't just go up in smoke.
