Hello all! It's been a while since I played some adom and lurked around these forums, did some minor posting and won many normal and one ultra game. So know I'm playing adom again and I feel as rusty as my spear :) Managed to get a win with a beastfighter and now i'm striving to an ultra ending with my dark elf wizard (lvl20atm). Just fed the ratling and now i'm having problems figuring stuff (even with the guidebook). So far i'm done with dwarf quests and gy. pyramid, tomb of the high kings and darkforge (mmm lightning ball). What is concerning me is: -Is there an aligment requirement to enter the stone circle? I'd like to crown(L+) asap after the crone quests -Does it have to be the Next darknight after i fed the mutated one (~24 days till next) -Is keriax that hard? (have pots of blindness + wand of paralyzing/stun) Any chance wiping It with lightning ball, burning hands, magic missile? Or is it just slying ammoand the likes? And some about the crone stuff: -Sroll of danger, haven't found one yet.. any chance of writing one (incase i even haven't seen one, have writing set tho) -Farmer (the usual worry :) one in HMV.. but _when_ the farmer just goes *poof* from a bolt can i ventriloque me a corpse from terinyo? Can't afford to anger them cos unicorn and stuff, or shall i just murder huge amounts of hmv population to create me one? Well, that's it. I really appreciate any help, so help me figure this out and win :) (I can write more about stats and inventory if anyone cares know more. It's pretty much the usual nogood-nobad luck stuff and stats) |

Stone circle req: it must be midnight on darknight. Alignment not an issue, day 60, 90, 120 etc all ok. Keriax is hard as nails. The !Blindness will make things easier, but be careful. I would avoid standing next to him if I were you. YOur writing set won't help you if your PC never saw a ?Danger. You can wish for one though. Farmer corpse - I reckon murdering HMV population is safest bet - and it doesn't take very long to generate a farmer + later corpse IMHO. If you want to limit level of C alignment drop, you could have some pet kill farmer wives and other non-hostiles for you whilst you wait. |

Why rush? I always leave Keriax until the very end. Once I have the trident thats when I go for Keriax. With a level 45+ character he is an absolute wimp. Personal favourite of mine is Acid Ball. With WI at 64+ you can blast away at a distance. Scroll of danger, try buying everything in the casino and dumping it outside then wait for re-stock. Get lots of potions of exchange and dip scrolls in to see if you get a danger scroll. Re farmer, dont go to teryino, just kill everything in HMV and another farmer will be generated quite quickly. Crowning is easy, get scroll of familiar summoning, then take your pet to Blups mums cave (forgot the name at the moment) Now your pet will start to drown, simply heal every turn, and you will get a lawful bonus each time you do it. Takes a while, but is easy and realtively safe to do. |

Ok thanks So i can leave the circle alone and do it like just before the final dive. Srewed with crone items then it seems. -!oCC nowhere to be found and fiery tower doesn't sound too good. -?oDanger, seems like ID jumping :S (any tips on this specific item) -Farmer corpse, just tried ventrilogueing farmers in terinoy with a lvl 1 wizard (feels like cheating hehe) and it seems to work, carrying the corpse to hmv can be hard tho... And i really would like to save the pool-drainage-wish-extravaganza for Aols and when i have means of removing doom and a blinky corpse in a shop somewhere. Wow sulangatori, it took me a while to get that ghastly sounding advice of yours. Well didn't have Aols for khelly so I decided to check library, nice spells etc. Then wen't for blups mom and found slb's and rods so most my troubles are gone. Its time for tower and dive for casino after. For the first time ever i'm gonna try tower without blanket so no items at all, but i trust in alertness, summon monsters and ice ball hehe. Should be doable with a lvl 25 wiz. btw, is boar skull always a nuisance like this... sigh |

You can return from chaotic after feeding the ratling and receiving the first crone quest (don't have to complete it, just receive it in your quest list). As for boar-hunting, being cursed and doomed helps a lot. But yeah, sometimes it takes forever :P Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

For naked ToEF attacks without any gear - remember: water orb + elemental gauntlets = cheap healing. The mighty Stunray spell is also invaluable of course. Well it was going too good so the game decided to crash picking up gear after air temple... I dunno but doesn't it seem to crash often when pressing enter to skip large amounts of text? Sorry to hijack the topic Mr. Moomoo, but lv. 25 my high elven barbarian is in serious trouble. I'm trying my first Ultra Ending ever, since normal winnings in ADOM seem pretty easy to me now. Anyway, I've killed all the farmers in Teryino BEFORE taking the quest from the crone. Stupid me. No corpse generated, and I've been hunting for a wish for... ever, to get a farmer corpse. I've read in this topic that if you wipe out HMV, a farmer will eventually respawn. Does that mean that I have to kill every creature besides the crone, and let's say Leggot, or absolutely everyone? :( Need some serious help, I'm already at D:43 with him and have trouble not leveling up. I just killed some ratlings, the ogre guard, some goblins and then a farmer spawned. Left the crone, oracle and shop keeper intact. It seriously took like 2 mins so it was nothing compared to the pain of acquiring sroll of danger. |

Weird, my barbarian found three scrolls before he reached lv15. He did not find a !oCC though, and the Snake from the Beyond corpse rotted away in literally two seconds. The guardian from the ToEF got his corpse delivered to Guth'Alak, but I forgot that you don't get !oCC if your Chaotic. It's obvious I've been away from these forums for way too long. You mean the game surely Mewto, rather than the fora :) I hope you remembered to sell the Corpse to Munxip for later use... NO need to kill the doctor, hawkslayer, and the shopkeeper - as moomoo says, all the other inhabitants should be enough... |

Both vogonpoet, both. I get theoretical experience from the forum and practical from playing ADOM ;) Sure missed this place, I'll try to stay up-to-date with posts this time. Is the generation rate of new posts as slow as a couple of years ago? :)) For the Horde! |

Well there was a pretty significant migration over to http://www.adom.de/forums/ mainly because it was hoped various challenge / cooperative games would be easier to organise there. Unfortunately, that kinda turned out not to be case, due to file size and post size issues, so maybe we will see the diaspora posters return here (certainly I have), due to its altogether less offensive brownness, and the fact we can blether on as much as we want here... |

Welcome back, Mewto - sorry to hear about your girdle mishap (though you really should learn froom that :P) This forum thankfully has been far more stable in the last few months. We should probably get our own little competition up again some time - a simple random char contest maybe. The boars leave skulls about 4/5 of the time when killed with -of hunting- ammo! |

The game doesn't consider the skulls to be corpses. The chance of a boar dropping one is 1/3. |

Well I'm pleased to notice that the forum loads quite fast, at least as fast as Google does on the school's wireless net. I registered on the adom.de forum as soon as it opened, but I do not like it for some reason. Nostalgia, probably. I sure will remember that Darren, and there's no way I'm carrying 21mil gp with me again, unless I use SoA ;) For the Horde! |

After level 25 Black Unicorn overland encounters start to occur. Food Pres 100 is a good idea, but not needed per se. SLB, -foo- of hunting and -foo- of damnation is a great help, but not needed per se. Eventually one of them will drop a corpse and that corpse can be exchanged for a !oCC. If you have a heap of corpses from... let's say a BU tension room.. remember to hand them in individually. Guth will gladly accept your entire stack - for one potion. As for the the gold (c)rush - has happened to me too. With the girdle being cursed, but practically the same. Hurts even on the other side of the fourth window :|. |
