I have a lev. ~20 barbarian going on and I found Scorched spear just below the dwarven town... After that I founded eternium spear just before water temple... I'm wielding them both right now, my two weapon combat is on ~90 and polearms are on lev. 13., the dices looks like this: Right hand: +57 bonus to hit, 2d8+40 damage Left hand: +54 bonus to hit, 3d8+31 damage I was just wondering, does the DV bonus from polearms mastery affect to the weapon what I have in my left arm? If it affects, then two spears are much better than a single spear and a shield... and with ranger, even more effective. Joka vitsaa säästää, saa kaatumataudin |

no, it doesn't (unfortuanetly). speaking of spears and rangers, i just found a spear (orcish IIRC), IIRC it was "of Mauling" or some such, and it was (+4, 2d10). that's friggin *good*. esp. for being something i found in the wilderness of an orc. ivan.sourceforge.net |

The scroched spear is the best on level with animate tree, animate trees are always created, and with this plant slay weapon and with phase dager you can realy fast train a high level in weapon... Fighting in invis and autopickup everything without tools... Logs are very heavy;) |

Err...skill in polearms WILL increase your DV if you carry one in your left hand. It's less (half maybe?) than what you'd get if it were in your right hand, though. And it's nowhere near as defensive as a decent shield. |

Hmmmm The best combination in my opinnion is Vanquisher (crowned gift if your PC born in month of sword... I'm not shure it) or other good tohanded weapon or Sting and Needle or phase daggers;) and a very high speed of your PC. You atack, atack, run away, wait... and atack, atack and kill. Ofkorz slow monster cast to:) blessed seven league boots are nice to:) Quickling tree, bug vilage are very good to acceleration PC.... |

Vanquisher is a possible crowning gift for barbarians, fighters and necromancers. Quote the manual under Weapon Skills "If a character wields two melee weapons, his DV modifier is calculated by taking the DV modifier of the weapon in the right hand plus one-half of the DV modifier of the left hand weapon. If the character fights without any weapon he will receive DV bonuses but once. Wielding a shield does not count as fighting unarmed since it impedes your mobility."
