So I took some time off from the jhonka challenge and decided to give necros a shot. Pick up DE and so far I`m having the strangest game I ever had: right now I`m level 33 and did all there have to be done until dying sage: ToEF, ToHK, ID 66 killed chaos dude) , killed water dragon, graveyard pyramid, dwarftown quests, DF, VD, HMV, rift, gremlins, bugs, stone cycle and the maze. My trouble is that this char is so great, that I can`t waste him on a regular win... I just could not find wish\AoLS anywhere! - I drank from every pool I saw. - I did some digging on the graveyard - found BoW, Preserver and Skullcrusher on the graves but no ordinery rings... - Water dragon cave was full of crap. - ID diving gave me lot of exps, books and made me a waking tank (I`v killed GM,greater titans, great karmic wyrm, tension room full of DK...) but no f***ing steel amulet. - I havent found even 1 PoEX, nor PoUH for the entire game, even not after giving the fool 40 ! of booze. On the other hand, I did found 7 random SoCR (which already gone due to the major time spent on the ID) I never had such a powerfull PC before even saving Khalley. I guess I can try try OCG ending, but I`m kind of afraid since I have only 3 SoCR left (mystic gave me only PoGA...) and I`m not sure if it is enough. my current tactic is hanging out on the big room (after reading there 4 scrolls of danger) and wait for RoDS, but so far it didn`t yield any results and it`s day 100 already. I hate gremlin bombs and I really dont want to try that tactic, but it seems that`s the only choice I left. BTW, while on the big room, I`ve killed about 60 cats, for the total sum of 80. How hard will be the cat lord? I took him down once after killing about 35, so do I need to prepre myself to an epic battle? |

About cat lord: I assume about everyone knows how to dispatch him, but, I've had massive trouble even with 5 killed cats. On the other hand you're saying this character is tough so it really compensates, still wouldn't stay close to him one bit with those numbers :) SoCrs: 3 is nothing.. Even with full clearance from unicorn and rushed closing afterwards, you'll end up severely tainted. Ordinary chaos god with 3 socrs is not doable tho you may luck out after Khelavaster, finding wand of wishing with 6 charges just beneath or something ;) Gremlin bomb I've personally never done, however it seems your only option besides just farming that big room of yours.. you need to be atleast at CoC 8 to get rods. I've found that slow monster spell on self + gremlin bomb to be a good way to get rods. Just hit ^Ck(ctrl + k) to make any key accepted as 'more' and then just hold down an arrow key to mutilate hundreds of gremlins in a second. Slow moster will make you so slow that you'll never move a square and will make the stuff appear in one square. You should do this at CoC 8 also, so that every time you get poex, you'll have the best possible chance to polymorph pos rings into rods |
