Hey Everyone, I'm a bit of a newb to ADOM still. Am doing better and currently have a lvl 14 High Elf wizard running along pretty well with some decent gear. I've cleared out the 5 Thundarr quests, and am thinking about taking on the Dwarf GY, but wanted to get the Old Barb Quest done first. I thought that I needed 20 kills of my first creature + a total of 500 kills to complete it (which I've done) but he keeps say something along the line of "keep going..." (not in those words, but that's the gist of the message). I was wondering if someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong with the Old Barb, and some advice on where I should go next. I'm also finding I just don't have enough scrolls of ID, and could really use some for the bunch of potions, rings, and amulets I've got build up. Thanks for the help! |

As for the barbarian quest, you just need 500 kills to get the quest, then kill 20 of your first kill. If you think you've already killed over 20 of your first kill, you probably didn't remember your first kill properly. The 'courage' skill is near worthless for a wizard anyway, as it only helps if your surrounded and using melee. Put me in the 'fool filter', where I belong! |

Just to clarify - thats 20 kills AFTER talking to Barb for the first time.... As for scrolls of ID, perhaps now is the time to seriously consider allowing religion into your life. The gods in ADOM can help make those ID scrolls a LOT more effective once you work out how to take advantage of them... |

As for scrolls of ID, I do have a great stock of Holy Water due to my piety... now I just need the scrolls of ID to go along... Thanks for all the help everyone! |
