I have a blessed ring of Dijjin summoning, but how do I rub it now?

'U'se it.
A pessimist sees a dark tunnel.
An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel.
A realist sees a train.
And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks.

Alternatively, if you don't like equipping it to do so, you may also ':u' direct from your inventory

Capital 'U' as Maelstrom advises does just that. I wasn't even aware that there was a ':u' command. After pressing 'U' it helps to press '=' to filter the inventory down to rings, and then choose your RoDS.

:u is awesome - keeps the Water Orb in the tools slot and your pick axe in your fire proof blanket wrapped pack... its like a whole extra arm or something...

How does the ":u" command differ from "U" ? All I see is that ":u" does not allow you to use carried items and "U" does.

Err, maybe I am confused, but I am pretty sure you can ":u"se stuff whilst you have something in your tool slot, and that whilst :using stuff, the item in your tool slot remains there...

Second example, in the mana temple, lit torch in the tool slot, :use water orb, continue enjoying effects of being able to see.

No difference "U"sing does that too.
":u" just takes you streight to the inventory, "U" starts out in worn items.
