I wonder, how many means of robbing shops are there? How do you rob shops usually? How is it best done? How do you rob casino? Is it all worth? I know about invisibility robbery, but when you have a pool "invisible" instrinct, you sadly seem to be unable to rob shops this way. Shopkeepers just see you even before the message. Or i might be wrong. |

My favourite way to rob a shop is with any means of teleport. you dont really need tele control either. I usualy only do this if im playing a spell caster and i find at least 3 books in the same shop. i often find nice things in the black market and this is a great store to rob since its not really necesary to ever return to the outlaw town. if you have no means of teleport control its a safe bet that you wont teleport randomly right outside the shop, you can then run to the closest edge of the map, and never come back :) I choose not to rob any shop that i know i will be passing by again (randomly generated shops) the high mountain village is a nice one if youve allready gotten the socr, tho i dont generally find anything worth getting cursed for... |

When i was playing a gnomish bard, my coshoo pet started digging black market's walls, namely he dug the edge of the entrance. the shopkeeper behaved rather adequately and stood on the tile which was formerly a wall. when i tried kicking stuff through the entrance(adjacent to the shopkeeper guarding the broken wall tile), the shopkeeper was very happy to warn me and"some strange magical force prevented you to kick stuff". Any ideas on what did i do wrong? |

as far as i know you cannot kick items out of the shop, through the door at least. ive heard that you can kick items onto a square that was formerly a wall, as it is still counted as being inside the shop, this is another way to rob shops. you can pick up items that are on these tiles and the shop keeper will guard the door, then you just leave through the wall. you can use wands of destruction to destroy the walls, but im not sure if this angers the shopkeeper. if your sneaking is at 100 and you use some form of invisibility you can steal from the shop without the shopkeeper realizing it, if you pick up some items and he does not block the door then you know that he has not detected you. this doesnt always work as you've knoticed, but if it does it requires high sneaking and invisibility, not one or the other. |
