ADOM forum noob here. I'm not sure if this has been seen before, but my level 19 gnomish merchant is able to buy and sell blessed scrolls of chaos resistance to the Dwarven shop at a profit. I mean that I can literally sell them, pick them up, buy them, then sell them again, etc. The only thing keeping me from limitless gold is my patience. My charisma is 19, haggle is 100. Can anyone else confirm this exploit? |

At some point, the shopkeeper is going to run out of money. He'll tell you that "I can only give you X gold for that item..." where X is the gold he has left, and then after that he'll refuse to buy your items. I don't play merchants much so I've never been in the situation you describe. It sounds nice, but it's not game-breaking in any way, since gold is easy to get for any character. Suddenly a stone block hits your head! Your looks improve. You feel more in touch with the world. |

It's not much of an exploit. You're just that good of a merchant. Limitless gold is acctually avaliable to anyone with the patience to get it and strenght to pick it up. And still it won't win you the game or even get you closer to winning ;) A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

"even get you closer to winning" This it will, certainly. Since you can buy stats, well limitless gold means limitless stats. And that takes you closer to winning, because 90% of the game is about toughening up for the ..tough fights. So yeah. Hm. |

Yeah, if you spent countless RL-hours waiting for the results. And the stats go up to 99 so they're not limitless ;P A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |
