Hello together,

i could use some help from experienced people. I play adom infrequently pretty long time now, but not wanting to save scum never got any deeper than the tower of eternal flames.
Now i got a troll monk lvl 14 (65 game days), done 4 dwarven quests and have the invitation to the pyramid.
I would like to clean the pyramid before i venture deeper in coc, but im not sure if it is possible with this char lvl. What is the best way to level a troll ? I tied to wander the ID around my lvl, but got 2 corruptions already, and the RNG gave me more 7LB than i got SoCR.
What should a teleporting, always angry troll do?

If you teleport uncontrollably the pyramid might be frustrating since it's kinda maze like.

A level 14 troll should not have too much trouble with the pyramid I think. Honestly been a while since I played, and I usually play casters but you can generally go there pretty much as soon as you get the invite, and trolls are the strongest per level for physical fighters.

Fire spells do help a LOT though, if you have a couple of fireball wands or something you should be set.

If you have the fireball wand from the dwarven quests you should be fine for the pyramid. A potion of invisibility can help for the top level in case there's anything really nasty.

Thank you,

reading through other threads i see i shouldnt expect to gain more than a low 20th level, is that right ? So playing martial arts Monk could be harder than expected. :)
I got teleport control from a blink dog, a couple of ivisibility potions and the fireball wand. let's rock.
Another question maybe : should i still focus on martial arts monk, or is it a better plan to grab a weapon and shild (i found a phase dagger)?

Definitely go weapon and shield, I'd say. Try and find something better than a phase dagger though. Essentially don't play the char as a monk - play it as a troll with some good skills and wall-kicking.

Hello again,
I thought i make an short status update.
My monk didn't have many problems in the pyramid. A blessed Potion of Invisibility and book of darkness helped a little.
Phase dagger was very useful in dark forge, but beside of exp i didn't find anything better there.
Lost teleport control diving for Aols in the pools.
Water temple was cakewalk, fire tower a harrowing experience. Stil, got the orb for the first time. Played in the casino (nothing in the shop :/) .
Got deeper - talked to the cat Lord who ate my face. Damn cats, it was only one - in self defense. :)

Ouch on the kitty king, but it sounds like you had a good run! Congrats on making it through the Tower for the first time - it's a truly formiddable experience.
