Hello, I need to know what the story is with ADOM. Right, what is the prerelease system? Is it like beta testing that you pay to get into? And another thing, will the new races and features ever be avalible for free? Or do I have to buy into the prerelease program in order to use such things? Sorry for this mouthful but this thing has been sitting in my head for a long time. |

Access to the closed prerelease builds where one of the perks offered to those that contributed to the crowd-funding campaign to resurrect development. So I guess yes, kinda. The final stable release(s) will be available for free to everyone. Version 1.2.0p5 was also release for the public: http://www.ancientdomainsofmystery.com/2012/12/adom-120p5-released-ho-ho-ho-ho.html Jan Erik Mydland HoF admin |

Thanks for the reply, it meant a lot to me, but do you mean that the very last release will be avalible for free? PS Sorry for this mess, but I used the nickname Klick when making this thread. [Edited 1 time, last edit on 9/15/2013 at 23:06 (GMT -5) by 404 not found] |

I think Thomas wrote that various stable "milestone" versions will be released to the public as well, not necessarily only the very last "final" version. Not sure how often that will be though. He's basically pumping out frequent builds with new features for backers to test, and every once in a while once something has been tested and found to be stable a more polished version will be released for everyone. Thanks again, any idea when these "milestone" versions will be released? |

Not aware of any particular schedule, last update was 18 August and just a bugfix. Assume it would be announced on the official site, and you might want to friend Thomas Biskup on Facebook as well, he usually post updates there. Jan Erik Mydland HoF admin |

Are you saying that its possible to get updates early on facebook? PS, sorry for my infrequent posting, but I do a lot of work around the house. |

No, just meant if you follow him there you would probably see if he announced a new public release. To get access to the alpha releases you need to buy in though a Pay Pal donation: http://www.ancientdomainsofmystery.com/2013/01/getting-access-to-adom-prereleases.html Not cheap, 40$ for access to early alpha builds for a game that will be released for free eventually is a bit steep to be honest. But if you want to support Thommas it is an option. Jan Erik Mydland HoF admin |

Ah, my mistake, I thought that you could see when the updates were released on the ADOM blog. |
