I was just wondering as my trollish bfighter just drowned and i found AoLS in his invetory, does aols prevent drowning? and does chaos mutant make other monsters writhing masses of primal chaos? If the AoLS is blessed, you'll get full life after being resurrected, which'll give you enough time to survive a few more squares of water. If it's uncursed though, you'll only get back to 1 HP, which'll probably mean that you'll drown the next turn again... Locke Cole |

actually... you don't always go back to 1hp with a cursed AoLS. With sufficient max hp you can get about 30hp after being ressurected. DougyDougy - Dougy - DougyDougy |

Since everyone's talking about avatars I thought I'd get one. This is a test post to see if it works. Can't say anything helpful about AoLS except that it won't save you from old age, being sacrificed by a monster, or transforming into a writhing mass of primal chaos. |

Diden't knew that cursed AoLS could resurrect to more than 1HP when cursed. On the other hand, I have never used an AoLS on my char. I have only given 'em to Khel. Locke Cole |

Shopkeepers to my experience offer lot of gold for ego items.-foo- of death has been in older versions tho.Just more damage. IIRC you can also sacrifice ego items. THE MESSIAH,I'm here now,Worship me. |

"Normal" items with a post- or prefix (aka ego items) are worth a lot. Javelins of death is just a "normal" item, although a bit rare, and not quite so valuable (besides missiles are never that expensive anyway). P.S. You can sacrifice anything, provided it's valuable enough (if a lone item is not good enough a stack of them might be). At low levels you can sacrifce just about anything, as your level increase so does your god's expectations. Beeing a ego item is not a requirement, they are just more valuable than regular stuff and as such are accepted more often. Unless you are playing an orc it's probably better to just sell the ego weapons and sacrifice the gold instead though... Jan Erik Mydland HoF admin |

unless your a dark elf who's cleared all the other shops out of money. in which case just sac the stuff... also i believe that if your a human, saccing si's is better than selling them and saccing the gold... plus it might be worth it to kick down doors for the sticks. not sure why i put that in this thread but oh well i did. ivan.sourceforge.net |

About saccing... anyone can tell me why when I'm playing trolls and I try to sacc for example 10 rocks, my deity isn't interested, but when I sacc THE SAME rocks in stacks of 2, deity accepts them. A bit strange, don't you think? |

I've seen that behaviour with most (if not all) my troll characters later on in the game. I believe it's a bug related to more experienced characters or characters with high piety. Any other explanations? |

If you attack a karmic being in melee you will first have your Fate Smiles and Lucky intrinsics removed and then you will be cursed and finally doomed if you continue your attacks. However, I think there is a certain (small) chance that there will be no harm done to you when you hit a karmic being with a melee weapon. |
