i've taken to calling my wizards, "DeadWiz," because they always, always die. i can get to level 12 or so. but what i'm really interested in is how to get into the cave to fight the druid??? it seems to be the one surrounded in stones? how do i get in there? after this, what do i do? i can wander through the infinite dungeon and level up, but i don't really know what quests to do or where i should be headed??? |

To get into the cave you must walk diagonally... use the keypad with numlock on. Spoiler There isn't an actual best method for approaching adom. My personal favorite is to wait until level 13, where the pyramid opens and start figuring out ways to take that down. (anything of fire is useful). Afterwards goto the caverns of chaos - the one labelled D:1 and so on. I bet everyone else will tell you different methods of approaching the game - it's upto you really, there is no perfect approach. Sidenote: It's nice to see a newbie around (: There's not enough ppl taking up adom these days. DougyDougy - Dougy - DougyDougy |

~It's nice to see a newbie around (: There's not enough ppl taking up adom these days.~ ah, cool. i have a couple months to play it, almost daily. while i recover from surgery: bah. then i'm back to work and will have to leave it forever. but it's my game of choice for the next couple of months. it was either adom or a game with really great graphics and nothing else. my first roguelike game. i really appreciate the complexity involved - graphics games tend to be both really simple, without the D&D feel, the dice feel, and annoying in the way you hold down the spacebar or something and the little character swings his sword over and over and over, etc. anyway, i want to beat it in two months. :) |

Bryan, I must tell you it's hardly possible. There are people who are playing adom for several years and didn't win yet (me for example). Anyway, I wish you good luck. |

oo, oo, i got the water orb once! *g* of course the char that prob owuld have gotten the highest score of any of mine got himself trapped in the dwarven mystic's room, then dropped everything before killing himself (which dropped his score a bunch. i wasn't thinking). the one that got the wet orb starved. and another promising char accidentally quit. arrrg... ivan.sourceforge.net |

Very spoily stuff.Read at your own risk. Spoiler There are tow stairways in dwarftown. One leads to the the next level of the dungeon(CoC) and the other leads to ogre cave which is available only after a quest is given to you. There is no such thing as stomafilla seed. Its just herb seed. Tele control can be got either from a pool or from a blink dog corpse. THE MESSIAH,I'm here now,Worship me. |

Spoiler are you sure he won't be my companion if i use the secret word Iceberg? i read that somewhere, and i heard Iceberg from a pool in C:1. Is tele control permanenet? is it ever a spell or do i have to eat the blink dogs? how do i find the stairways in dwarftown? speaking of stairways, how do i find the stairway in the assassin cave, i've been there for hours and checked virtually every dot of space?
