in my manual it says C-o issues commands to companions. i have a beggar companion, my Charisma is only 5, and when i hit C it only chats with the beggar, so i can't hit the o part. is there some special way to type in that C-o command to issue a command? i can't figure out how to do it. i don't think it's my charisma, i think i'm hitting the keys wrong??

the "C" means control... so the command is ctrl-o.

Is there any way to order your undead units if your a necromancer?

yea, hit Ctrl-X and pick "command undead" from the menu. good thing about slaves: they don't ignore you.

Thanks, before my stratagy was to switch places with my slave and push him into the enemy.
And my Zombies were REALLY STUPID, I would push him into a room full of monsters and he would just walk around while I got slaughterd.

IMHO companions should always be hostile to monsters that are hostile to you.

Unless you explicitly tell them to neither companions nor slaves will attack anyting automaticaly.

They only attack things that have attacked you, or themselves, so in this situation:

The zombie who have wandered into the tention room will not attack anyone (yet) because it can't reach the monster that is actualy attacking the player at the moment (It will try to make it's way to the offending monster though, but it won't attack other monsters on the way unless they attack it first).

The problem is that if they where hostile toward everyting that was hostile to the player they would be running off and getting themselves killed in no time. All in all it's better that they follow the player around and just try to defend him/her unless ordered otherwise (a "search and destroy" mode could be neat for powerfull companions though :)).

[Whew, why didn't I just use a black & white example :D]

Necro is one of the most powerfull clases in ADOM, especcialy if he didn't forgot about visiting SMC
