I've been perusing this forum for about half an hour, wanting to post something in it but not knowing what, suddenly it hits me. At the start of this year I started an ADOM comic, then got bored and gave up. Point is, I started it and it's still there so: http://www.angelfire.com/amiga/norcamleh/index.html Some of them are funny. The first one is admittedly crap, but if you go into archives you may find a couple amusing ones. Tell me if you like any, please. If I had a dollar for every pet poster stuck on the telephone pole outside my house, I probably would be stealing pets. |

Ah so you are the one making those cartoons. Actualy I've had a link to it in the link section of the HoF for some time now. I have to admit I don't quite "get" all of them, but there are a few good ones there too... By the way, if you are lacking inspiration how about browsing though all the "funny message" posts on the newsgroup (search the adom group using google.groups.com for "YAFM" or "funny message"). A lot of funny stuff there that might give you some inspiration for a couple of new strips (you know "You are engulfed by some kind of purple radiation. Um. Alright then. See, the problem is that I have come up with only one way of making it. That is, coding the colours and ASCII text in notepad, making a new channel on IRC and copy/pasting it there, sceen shotting the whole screen, pasting the screen shot in MSPaint, taking the little comic sequences out of the big screen shot to another MSPaint window with the little 3 square template, making up text for the characters to say, then starting again. That's pretty much why I gave it up, being so hard to do. Anyway, I'll try and make some more today. I like http://home.iprimus.com.au/helmacron/comic/j26.gif the most. Yeah, try using Word (or Wordpad) instead (pick a fixed width font, set fore- and background color and "draw" away). If you use Word you can use the built in draw tools to make "real" speech boubles as well... Jan Erik Mydland HoF admin |
