I just spent the last 2 hours of real time clearing out a Greater Vault of Undead, and I didn't even find one measly artifact for my trouble! I've gotten two artifacts before from Greater Vaults with Giants (probably one of the easiest types of GV's around IMHO!). I'm only irritated because this is the first PC (LVL 37 Human Priest) I've ever had that has been able to beat a GV of Undead. Usually I get my butt kicked if I even try. Sigh... |

Hey, you probably got a load of cash, right? So take it to the casino... gamble for about six hours.... you should have enough to get anything you want from the gift shop. Look at the bright side. YOu probably got a LOT of XP from that vault. Die Gedanken sind Frei |

You're right, there was quite a bit of cash and I did get a lot of use out of the Baptism of Fire spell (only thing I could attack those Emperor Liches with and do damage those suckers are rough!) You want to fight? Fight me! HAHAHA |

The worst IMHO is GV of Karmic Beings: Wyrms, Dragons, lizards and the only way you can kill them is with a missile (except for the "l"). Most Undead GV have 3-4 artefacts. And they leave lots of To boosting corpses :D Heal, bless, fireballs - it all works. If you have Wi at a decent level (IIRC it was 32+) - the ball spells have a greater range - and they hit monsters through walls :) - so you can kill the Emperors without a risk. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

I have not had the bad luck to run across a Greater Karmics Vault, I've only seen something like 14 Greater Vaults since I've been playing, and about 1/4 have been of the Undead variety, the rest were either of Giants or Fire Creatures, though I did get one vault with a bunch of Black Dragons in it. Talk about item destruction! And I thought the Blue Dragon caves were bad! Thanks to all for the suggestions on dealing with these things in the future! Hopefully they will make these a LITTLE easier to get through! You want to fight? Fight me! HAHAHA |
