What exactly will blindness and deafness do to monsters when you toss potions of them at monsters? "If the bread weights that much in the draklor chain, then it's no wonder so many die of starvation. If you've seen monsters that have stepped on a light trap - that's what they'll do. You will be invisible to them, and they won't be able to attack you unless they feel you (direct attack) or hear you - which can be countered by Stealth 100 or a potion of deafness. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

Maelstrom, my experience with the Apish corruption is that it tapers off around the high thirties, early forties, to the point you'll go days and weeks without any increases. I've theorized that it stops once it' drains your willpower and learning to 1, probably wrong but that's all I can come up with for why it slows down so much. I've had ape corruption push my St into the 80s and To into the 60s. I don't know if my Wi or Le ever dropped to 1, but both can easily be countered (herbs and crystals to be precise, or training with Garth). Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

If it does, then how, may I ask, did I get: "His strength score was modified by +34 during his career. His toughness score was modified by +34 during his career." (the char finished at 127 days) It doesn't take much time, since the effect seems random, like normal stat-training increases. (except for the guaranteed checking at level-ups). And it does not stop. My Le and Wi was at 1 for the last couple of increases, and my St and To kept going up. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train.
