Ok, here's how my turn went: 0-84 = Used two potions of holy water to keep Wyrm corpse from rotting, gave it to the Druid and received a blessed PoCC 85-379 = Recovered Sword of Nonnak from the Griffyard, acquired a Necklace of the Eye; used another holy water to bless 9 scrolls of identify 380-490 = Entered Darkforge 491-1178 = Cleared Darkforge, acquired a crystal chain mail, used a few Spenseweed 800ish = Leveled up Climbing (x2), Detect Item Status, Detect Traps, Stealth. Got a new talent - Quick Shot 1178-1552 = Went down to D:3, looking for the herbs i thought were supposed to be there...didn't find any (D:3 = CoC: 3 right?). Made it to TotHK. 1553-2000 = Started exploring Tomb, currently on UC:2 Notes: Axes reached LVL8, Shields LVL10. UC:1 - Dark Room near middle of level, partially lit by a crystal of light (go giant raccoon mining for me) UC:2 - Ants! Use them to mine out the level if you want. CoC:3 - at least 1, i think more, vortexes Going for 2nd win |

I have recieved the file, which was quite an adventure in it's own way. The file size was reported to be 832 K, but when downloaded it was only 613 K. I tried loading it, but it wouldn't load properly. I re-downloaded it, and it came as the complete 832 K, it loaded fine. I don't know what the problem was the first time. I have read the preceding game report, and am starting to play now. I will update this as I go. I start by examining our inventory. It seems that someone picked up a large eternium shield (+2) [+11, +5]. I swapped it for the crystal shield. I swapped the mithril girdle +2, for the adamantium girdle +3. My plan is to use quarrels of undead slaying, while wielding the two uber sheilds, to get the RotHK. I drunk the potions of charisma without bothering to bless them. Now to the game. I am using the cloak of invisibility to cross the cavernous levels. I let Rhea reach starving status, and use some moss for future dexterity increases. I ate a dark orc corpse for a ST increase. I am sadly missing morgia root. The skeletal king fell to three quarells of undead slaying, which were recovered. On the way back out, I picked up a rune covered tome. On the way back through the mountains, I encountered some giants. Only one corpse, but it was a winner. Rhea's strength stat is now 20. Upon entering D:2 of the CoC, I realize why FantomFang couldn't find herbs on D:3. It's because he was never on D:3, but S:3 instead. The stairs to D:3 were covered over with a rock, and the stairs to S:3 even have a nice dug out path leading to them. I killed a cave lion, just because I could. The herb patch on D:3 hasn't regenerated anyway, so I will try the big room. I restocked on cooked lizards, Rhea is getting hungry pretty quickly now. I checked the shops, as I went, none of them had restocked, but I did pick up a couple of cheap wands of digging. I killed a few of the blink dog swarm in the big room, by shooting arrows past them. Since Rhea has the carrying capacity now, I have picked up the item stashes along the way. I spent the remainder of my turn harvesting herbs in the big room. File sent to Darren. Descended towards Dwarftown. Another cave lion killed, bwaha. Picked up other BDSM from ogre cave. IDed stuff, dropped some important items in ogre cave - strength of atlas spellbook, crystal mail (-1, +9), pick axe, ores/ingots, tinderboxes/flint (useless when we have no torches!), some bows. I ain't a packrat, I don't like lugging this stuff around, especially when it makes the char unnecessarily Strained. Got the demon quest, lured demon to smith, and was very pleased that the smith was killed quickly and without incident. But immediately a dwarven child stepped in and picked up the smith's hammer and anvil! Obviously a budding apprentice, but he was in my bloody way. After a lot of dancing with the demon, losing perception and appearance in the process, the child is slain. Equipped the blessed two-hander and the demon died in one hit (dropping a cloak of protection +6). Smith had dropped eternium warhammer of might - stashed with anvil in ogre cave. Got Big Punch, also stashed. Sold dwarven child corpse to Waldenbrook (9 gp - I was tempted to haggle). Of course after all that effort guess what? Stupid me forgot to get smithing. God damn it... And after I was the one that was first to remind everyone not to let the smith die before learning from him :( Found out what happened to our nice long sword of devastation - bought it back from Waldenbrook for 4k. This is a damned nice weapon, with similar raw damage to the penetrating two-hander at far less risk (+31 DV and +5 PV from a shield at the mo). Shame on whoever sold it. Sold huge amounts of junk (30 rocks anyone?) and the damaged BDSM - gold up to 100k. Sacced 80k at altar and prayed - we are now the holy champion of the divine Ayssia! Lightning immunity - pretty redundant with BDSM, but if we change armours later it'll be handy. Crowning gift: Trusted One (+1, 5d3) [+7, +7] and gives resistance to fire/cold/acid/sleep/petr/stun/death/para/shock. At least it ain't the gauntlets of eternal peace. After stashing and selling we are now finally way below burdened (with the fire orb anyway), and with no further monetary needs we should only be picking up stuff we actually want to use. Decided to take the spellbook of Teleport with us in case we manage to scrape up enough mana to book-cast it. I'll be book-casting Frost Bolt as we go along (two book-casts uses up all our PP). Drank potion of training - Dodge. Blessed and drank potions of troll blood, raw mana and strength potential (knocked the potential up 8 points). Dumped our remaining gold into Strength with Garth (orb temporarily removed), and plugged two more morgia into Toughness after getting a potential increase for it. I expect a St, To and Ma increase at some point ( Drank a potion of insight. Here are the results: You are fire resistant (enhanced through items). You are poison resistant (enhanced through an item). You are cold resistant (gained through items). You are lucky (enhanced through an item). Fate smiles upon you (enhanced through an item). You are able to control teleportation. You are shock resistant (gained through items). You are immune to shock attacks. You naturally heal one hit point every 42 turns. You naturally regenerate one mana point every 5 turns. As you can see we're quite lacking resistances - importantly acid. Healing rate is bad (bloody grey elves) but PP regen is maxed. Wasted quite a few turns trying to read the Teleport spellbook - no luck (power draining and no new insights). Got to D20 without incident, and at 1200 turns in I'm finally getting to explore something new (Water Temple looks like it hasn't been fully cleared, but I didn't bother going near it - not that much xp there I don't think, and I would like to do a bit of exploring myself). Pool and wolf tension room on D20. D21 and 22 boring (all 3 levels cleared). D23 is the banshee level - I immediately clogged my ears. I found a hill giant, troll chieftain and dark orc corpse - only the troll gave any benefit. Turn limit reached, vlg written, and deaf char saved and passed to Sulangatori. Enjoy seducing the fair maiden.... EDIT: Looking at the log files, it seems the stat increases I was expecting did happen at some point without me noticing (I'm not used to being deprived of ADOM Sage's luxuries). More morgia thus needs to be eaten at the start of the next turn. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." Ate some food at banshee level. Took banshee down to forest. Gathered some loot. Left her there at 'experienced' (soon-to-be 'very experienced' I believe). Gathered a crystal of knowledge, potion of learning, potion of toughness, some water and booze and a mithril cap at (+5). Also, a writing set and a blank scroll. Some money. No morgia eaten. Went back down and descended to D24. Found a bee hive right by the stairs and am now on D:23 with a bee beside me. Where is our teleportation wand? Did it get destroyed? We'll get killed without one! Oh, and also picked from the trees some arrows of undead and demon slaying + 11 nice quarrels of slaying (yes, that is a legit prefix - +1 in handsomeness) A couple of NB's: 1) Banshee is still in the forest. 2) Banshee is still alive. 3) There is kobold in the south-east room on D:21. She has a bow. Maybe arrows. Ta. |

File received, playing now. There is a wand of teleportation. 2 charges (not used in my turnset. Also, in an emergency it is possible to book-cast teleport...at the cost of some health. I decide to explore deeper and leave the Banshee-task to someone else. Or indeed, vow to never go back again...So I cleared out my ears (more earwax in inv.) D:24: Explored, cleared. Nothing much, except them bees. Used the two-hander D:28: Nothing D:27: I feel excited. Don't know why, as it is a vault of undead. Decide to clear it anyway. Wielded broadsword + shield to minimize incoming hits. Blessed the sword to lay more hurt on undeads. Found nothing much (at least without IDing my stash), but when digging a shortcut I came across a crystal of knowledge. A searing wall of flames did not stop me... D:26: There are herbs. Moss/Spenseweed leftmost patch, Morgia/Peppers in the lower one, and Alrunia/Stomofillia in the right-hand side. Harvested only while exploring, but added some much-needed morgia. D:25: Dark room - made light with a crystal of darkness. Time ran out - heard some slurping sounds, but nothing encountered. Luck to the next man... PS: Banshee is in the forest. PPS: The book (") on the floor in D27 is just a tome of chaos, so don't bother about it. PPPS: I ate morgia, got toughness potential increase and did not eat any more after (so it should be safe to eat 8 morgia right away...) A quite unremarkable game. D: 25 contained some shitty werewolf wolves, one of which was carrying a far less shitty scroll of chaos resistance. D: 29 (I believe) contained a shop, which contained largely shitty items except some humanoid slaying quarrels. D: 30 is the casino. Rhea's currently picking up all the items so we can do a casino restock. I didn't check at all which kinds of items I picked up already. I also accidentally let my turn counter exceed 62000 by quite a margin, for which I apologize with all sincerity. Please note that I would never have bothered to do a casino restock if this was my own character. It's a bit of a scummy tactic in my eyes. I drank all the potential stat potions we had, and I drank a blessed potion of cure corruption to get rid of mana battery. Since we rely on wands a lot in our spellcasting - especially our teleportation wand - I think that was a necessary move. I also killed a moloch. Entirely unremarkable, because Rhea is a walking tank right now, only with rather low HP. I killed it with regular arrows in berserk mode, for christ's sake! You drop the golden ball. You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west. Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?" Which direction? You guys are NOT going to be amused by my lack of ADOM brilliance. After sorting through stuff in Casino shop, realised if I was going to gamble, I might need some piety to remove confusion, and was not sure how we are doing piety wise. Besides, I wanted a shot at the Cat Lord. I considered robbing the Casino instead, but I have no idea where the nearest altar is, so I left everything useful looking on a different square, and went to search for the Cat Lord. Under Casino, a level mostly unexplored. Then the bunny level, I zapped a digging wand, and used the penetrating axe to dispose of a few rabbits and Buggs. There are bees on the level, and probably a few bunnies still - I didn't check all bunnies gone, as I wanted a shot at the Cat Lord, but the breeding should be slow without Buggs anyway, right? Next level down, you feel exited, and its CoC 34. Too eager to pursue the Cat Lord, I headed on down to CoC35, having checked wands situation, dual wielding shields in coward mode. Cat Lord Level - zap WoMonstDet, the guy is just outside the closed room I am in, I open the door, and get hit out of nowhere. Is Rhea wearing the Ancient mummy wrapping? No. Shit. Cretin. So I head over to stairs, getting missed more often that not, go up, telelport away, and equip the wrapping. No serious harm done, phew. I stick on the necklace of the eye as well, and drink a good extra healing potion. Is this the most stupid pre-cat lord mistake ever??? Feeling like a complete idiot after AMW gaff, I tiptoe back towards the Cat Lord, and a more conventional CL fight ensues - my humanoid slaying ammo is blessed and poisoned, my paralysis wand keeps getting shrugged off, but webs and a cursed PoI keep me from getting hurt. The guy staggers around blindly a bit, and I teleport to other end of my webbed corridor a few times, for safety's sake, but things are going well until he panics. He runs away, I pick up the ammo off the floor, and give chase. I explore the non-lesser-vaulted half of the level, he's not there. Bugger. I zap the WoMDetection again, and find out that he is cowering in far corner of vault, which is full of white D's, and which is of the kind which looks a bit like an upside-down W. Fair enough, AMW stays on then I think to myself. I head on over to the vault, slay a few baby dragons, and meet a named white wyrm (Ssdgfkljynagfkl or whatever) which I had failed to notice on the screen after I zapped the wand. Oops. I try a blessed wand of fireballs a few times, but actually, its not going very well, and there are older dragons too, so I take out sword of devastation, and hack away - think I got a few stat drains I'm afraid, but eventually the W falls, and Rhea gains a level. Still not found the bloody Cat Lord, and Rhea is getting hit on a fair bit, so I drink an normal PoI and search for the allusive f. There the Cat Lord stands, next to an ancient white dragon, in one of the diagonal legs of the vault W. I zap the webs again, and shoot some still poisoned slaying ammo at the Cat Lord, and lo and behold, one less cat to deal with, and Rhea gains another level. At this point, I had to have breakfast and go to work, so will finish up the vault this evening, and maybe go back up and check for bunnies, and search for short cut etc, but I thought you guys should know the Cat Lord has fallen, despite my stupidity, which was apparently built by the Gods of Chaos to take the piss out of Infinity. --------------------------UPDATE!--------------- Well in the end I went over my turn by pretty much the same amount as Silfir before me. Sorry next dude. We are on the level below the Casino above the bunny level (which has a black dragon to contend with, as well as the bees). We are here to slay some snakes, and find the shortcut, which is the only method we should be using for surface raids from now on, as IIRC (anyone wish to confirm????) there is still a big bad Banshee in the animated forest, and some sort of THUMB! in the DH. Bad News: During CL shenanigans, Rhea cast teleport from memory, so now we are a bit low on castings (understatement). Much Worse News: Checked Rhea's stats at the Casino with Rhea's stats after the named white Wyrm Shyteforbrainstatconsumerafix, and it turns out Rhea got p0wned: Rhea St:32 Le:26 Wi:25 Dx:31 To:22 Ch:19 Ap:21 Ma:19 Pe:22 N= DV/PV: 59/31 H: 193(193) P: 84(84) Exp: 21/850353 D: 31 M: 62788 Blessed Bloated Strained! Damn. I shall definitely be sticking to ranged attacks against named Wyrms in future. Next player: 1/ Careful, we are wearing a girdle of carrying cause I picked up a fair bit of stuff (forgot to drop crap) in the white dragon vault. 2/ We now have some gold (don't think any doubling occurred whilst I was hunting the CL, but who knows), so some of the nicer stuff in the Casino could be purchased without resorting to gambling, although if it were me, I would probably gamble and buy more rather than not gamble and buy less (reminder for self next time: we are crowned, hence Blessed, so someone must have sorted piety out at some point). 3/ We are a bit low on hit points, after some ancient white critical dragon hit (was a bit scary, would have been too horrid for Rhea to die to a dragon whilst standing in the same room she recently slayed the Cat Lord). OK.. Heres my report Seems like Vogonpoet was going back upwards but I decided to dive downway.. D:32 theres the shortcut to the darkforge, for future ascendings (remember that banshee is still in the forest!) D:35 theres chaotic altar - after converting we could use it to build up our piety if its waning. There was also lots of ancient white dragons which I slaughtered and got some good stuff. PoGA for an example (I drunk it after blessing). Got levelup and I took dodge and find traps. I also got a talent, I took "healthy" since we suck at healing. (Not sure was that right choise...) D:36 Is cavernous level. Theres darn high monster generation rate so it took lots of time to get trough it to the stairs down. D:37 Vault again. But this time black dragons. I got stuck to the right side of level and I had lots of them after me... ...They keep dissolving junk from our equipment so I suggest you to use ranged weapons. The fight was so intense that I spent almost 170 turns more than I should have. Im sorry about this, but theres nothing to make it undone :( -> To the next one "The white baby dragon equips the small shield." WTF :D |

I started my turn in the air temple, and imediatley left for the cache of equipment on the previous level. Luckily nothing was destroyed in the few turns I spent leaving as we were wearing slbs, girdle of carrying, destroyable gloves of carrying with rings of slaying, and a good bow. Changed to metal gear, ele gaunts and rings of invisibility and clear mind, and to the 2hander. After fighting my way into the room I got a scroll of familiar summoning, which I used imediatley so it would not be destroyed, and I recieved a tame, named, greater blue wyrm. I decided to due an action shot instead of the boring end of turn pictures, and I took it here, I am standing to the right of the wyrm. The wyrm and the air beings repeatedly shot lightning bolts at each other, which ricocheted around the room destroying everything that was summoned. The Summoner died easily and I made some progress towards digging into the earth temple before my turn ended. I left the pile of crap that was above the air temple were it was, and I grabbed the good stuff before decending. Also I commanded the wyrm to wait inside the summoners room, he gained several levels so I would advise you to leave him there, unless you are planning to kill him. I did run through earth temple in boozatron style -- wand of fireballs + blessed booze+blessed scrolls of charging. Also hacked with axe of pentration at lonely elementals and pralyzed the Beast itself. When took out twohander and had a bit of fun:) Also mad a run down: D45?(on level bellow) has greater vault of giants and a like d46? has not finished vault of red dragons. i run down to d48 were i cleared tension room of ghosts (reason of unnatural aging). There was also room of greater air elementals who are awaken. I took care of choas wizard and air grue to gain some experience. On way up I got lv30 on some ancient red dragons from minor vault. rest is boring. get to druid, find white horse, find black one, kill white one. I managed to stay on edge of neytrality so started moving towards dwarftown - more morgia, altar (n= is easy to restore) and possibly stash which should be resurfaced. Overused about 20turns. Sorry. Extra notes: lost Stone Beast corpse, used one scroll and one potion to counteract effects of corruption. And i doubt about previous dragon vault being totally cleared. First thing I wonder upon looking Rhea over, is where did the spellbook of teleport get to. Oh well, I hoof it back to dwarftown, teleportitis helps a lot. I notice that we are low on healing abilities. One blessed PoEH, two uncursed PoEH, and the Water Orb. Not much. I will sort the junk at waldenbrook's. Goodness! I have never seen such a mess of stuff in all my life! I have spent a horde of time sorting through Rhea's junk, and the benefits have been nice. I sold the junk, and used some of the gold to get alignment back, and some gold for Garth training. I'm 619 turns in, and haven't left dwarftown yet! Selling the useless wands was frustrating. Because of the wand dropping bug, I basically had to wind up dropping them one at a time. I doubt that I will pick herbs on the way back to the DF shortcut. Toughness is now 25, and I don't want to wait around just for spence. Here is the rest: Well, I didn't accomplish anything major. Just descended back deep into the CoC. Rhea is well on her way to the Mana Temple. Currently I had found a patch of ancient white dragons, and was killing them when my turns ran out. The turn counter is reset to even zero's now. Screenshot will be up as soon as I edit it. So I send the file to Darren with the message: Have fun with the Archmage! well i read teleport book once. And that was gone. I gained something like 40+knowledge Due to healing potions. I used two blessed potions of extra healing in earth temple. And remains of peper petals as well. From what i saw i got 5 b/u on start in my inventory. (That makes three you found on char and two i used, i thought some of them must be stashed away.) Rhea has just been butchered, heavily fucking butchered in the Mana Temple. She was, I must say, quite underpowered with low HP, weak offense and terrible defense. But the majority of the blame lies on me, for some very poor mistakes that we have suffered dearly from. Okay, first of all took out the rest of the ancient whites with dragon slaying ammo and the white dragon scale mail. They didn't give all that much xp, but they did provide a corpse (+1 To). Went further down and slew a greater moloch with demon slaying ammo for an easy level up. Found the mana temple and dug in, and proceeded to walk around detecting traps on each step (we had no wands of detect traps). My plan was simple enough - lure the archmage out into the corridor where I could shoot the bugger from a distance with humanoid slayers. So I fired a wand of magic missiles at the centre of the temple and started whacking my way in with sword and shield to find the blighter (trying to aim for chaos wizards in particular to cut down on summons). Got about halfway in when suddenly I got hit with an energy ray, and I realised my terrible mistake - I had forgotten to equip the ancient mummy wrapping. I could not see invis, and right then had no death ray resistance either. The fact that he didn't cast death ray immediately is quite lucky. I quickly equipped Trusted One (Nonnak would have been an option too) and tried equipping the AMW, but in the process of removing my current armour everything went dark, I got hit by a bunch of criticals and I got stat-drained. Holy crap, I realise, the bastard's right next to me. "Do you want to continue removing the white dragon scale mail?" Hell no!! I drank an extra healing potion and cast light, taking numerous drains in the process, and see now that I'm surrounded by chaos goons with the Archmage right above me. Okay, so it was panic time - major shitting my fucking pants time in fact. I was in the middle of the temple with the invisible Archmage right next to me crit-hitting and death raying whilst draining my stats red-raw, with no means of easy escape. Meleeing my way out would be suicide. I tried firing some quarrels at the Archmage hoping I could finish him here and now quickly, but they all missed, and he kept pounding me hard in the process. I check the character screen and I've got only +16 to hit on Berserk. Crap. Lack of Courage really hurts at moments like this. Drank another potion of extra healing to deal with the latest death ray attacks. After some deep breaths I see the only path out - through fire. I equipped the water orb and the ring of ice and started applying our recently learned alchemy on pairs of herbs. The chaos summons start dying and I'm slowly able to make my way towards the exit, but with the Archmage in tow still firing death rays and sucking the stats out of me, with me having to frequently cast/zap Light to make sure my path was clear. Our last extra healing potion was quickly downed, and soon I was resorting to prayers to heal. But finally I made it to the corridor, and SLBs let me get some distance away. Then came the final battle. I equipped the AMW and the fire orb to get away from Strained! status and turned to face my nemesis. He's died at my hands so many times before, but this time it was personal. He'd drained Rhea's appearance stat and that was just unforgivable. It was time to settle this quarrel... with quarrels. Blessed quarrels of humanoids slaying to be precise. I kept firing them at him, but then I realised a fatal flaw in my original plan - Rhea sucks at archery. Really sucks - her to hit is awful. Quarrel after quarrel went flying past the Archmage, hitting nothing. Eventually I ran out of quarrels and resorted to arrows. By this stage I was wearing an amulet of light so I could fire in the dark, and he had closed up enough to get death rays at me. I could have run further away but I didn't want to risk losing him behind the other chaos hordes. I kept ducking round the corner to pray for healing when knocked down too low on HP - and that happened often, going under 20 even. Finally, after a lot of persistence the battle came to the end when I fired my very last humanoid slaying arrow at the critically injured Archmage. It hit, and he fell. We gained 4 levels, bringing us up to 35. But the costs are still dear. Stat differences from the previous game are as follows: -6 St, -11 Le, -3 Wi, -8 Dx, +2 To, -2 Ch, -3 Ap, -5 Ma, same Pe. To increased because of the dragon corpse and eating all the morgia whilst sick. St, Le and Dx are obviously the biggest losses, and unfortunately I used up most of our mareilon creating fireballs. We also have zero extra healing potions left. Now at 77023 turns. Will spend the next 1k going to the BDC - we could do with some decent items and more levels before taking on D50. Hopefully I can make up a bit for my serious blunder... Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." All I've got to say is this: Thank god the RNG rolled Alchemy when i used that Potion of Education, lol. Don't feel bad anyways. Just be thankful it wasn't me, because there is no way i could do the Mana Temple with a character like that. It was pretty dang hard for me when i got there with my wizard...can't imagine what its like w/out tons of spells to rely on, not to mention having perma-invis and using coward. The stat drain sucks, but at this point we're really past the very hardest stuff, aren't we? It seemed to me that if you play your cards right, D:50 isn't nearly as hard as that. But then again, what do i know? =) Going for 2nd win |

Alchemy certainly was very handy. Without it I'd have had to rely on the fire orb. BDC turned out to be very profitable, making me wonder if gut's advice on doing it first should've been better respected. Now up to level 44! Should soon get to the next level by clearing the wyrms in the bottom level too. Turned out I had the stiff muscles corruption, which no doubt contributed to my difficulties in the Mana Temple. Another poor oversight on my part - normally I have the dynamic display set to action cost to pick this up. Cleared it and another corruption I picked up with one SoCR and dropped most destroyable stuff on the stairs next to the karmic geezer. Went down wearing a cloak of invis with the intention of only dealing with things that could give good items or xp. First level of the BDC had a greater moloch that took us to level 36, two molochs that brought us to 37 and a greater titan that fired us up to 40 (he was quite in the dark about it, of course). Dispatched some greater elementals, ancient dragons and a great karmic wyrm, which happily dropped us a RoDS. I would've used it straight away for a girdle of giant strength, but RoDSes are not destructable so I figured it's best to wait till we're out of the BDC. Killing ancient blue dragons and blue wyrms got Rhea to level 41, and then the big bad Barney himself brought us to 43. He wasn't too tough - just took a few hits from the two-hander. Continued killing ancients and wyrms till my turn counter hit 78000, bringing our little merchant up to level 44 in the process. The remaining dragons on the level will easily secure her level 45. Not much decent loot in the caves unfortunately, other than another pair of SLBs and bracers of To+5. Maxed out several skills, including Dodge and Food Preservation. Talents-wise chose Good Learner (actually gives +50% xp in some cases), Affinity with Two-Handers, Careful and Defensive Fighter. Over to Sulangatori... One warning though: there's a quickling queen next to the DL2 stairs - couldn't deal with her so I just ran away with two shields. You might want to do the same. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

This is how it went: My first ancient blue dragon that I kill drop "Ironfist". Sweet. The next 20 drop a couple PoGA and one PoUH. Some sweetness. I got a bit stuck between some greater clawbugs and a balor at one point (being seriously tempted to paralyze mr. b) and teleported to the stairs. The quickling queen was tedious so I left her. Standing next to the sign that says "insert fire orb here", but I simply can't make myself do it. My lack of willpower has left me here with the turn counter on some 19976 and I have decided that this is the time to make up for all those times me going over the turn counter. I have gained 5 levels, up to lvl49. I got points on strength and mana. Put the skill points into climbing, tactics alchemy and, of course, survival. Gained antennas and hooves. Sweet. Our girl does not look very nice right now, so to be able to compete on the harsh dark elf love market I put our talents into sexuality (potent aura) and intelligence (good book learner). At least now she has more feet to stand on... eh, hooves, that is. Also took two-handed weapons up to lvl 10. That is all. Things might worth doing: Drink PoGA. Wish for potions of beauty. Have fun with the familiars! S. |

Rhea first looked around her in disgust, then threw away a lot of useless armor and weapons and items. She then stuffed the Orbs into their correct positions. Before entering next level, she prepared by drinking two blessed PoGAs. She also made some holy water by dipping plain water into holy water. She did some alchemy, creating potions of longevity. This last bit was to enable skill-gain in alchemy, for a possible nice recipe for PoGA. Longevity...? Entered next level, found the floor all slippery, so the realized that to move she had to make use of action-reaction principle. Throwing a potions of uselessness granted the gift of "skullcrusher" from an impressed deity. Since club weapon skill was at level 1, we decided to use this throughout the rest of the fighting. humanoid slaying and +4 str, and usable with shield. (Testing showed this slightly less damaging to balors than two-handed chainsaw of extreme penetration, but it was good enough). Rhea then entered D:50. Read a blessed scroll of magic mapping gave the layout. She then used a digging wand to make side-corridors into the north-west and later into south-west. Rhea slew all guardians around the lever, aided by a greater earth elemental (NW) and a tame Balor (SW). Doing this granted level 50, triple carrying power and create item spell! And she maxxed alchemy to 100. PoGA recipe was PoUH and PoBoostspeed, so the made one with the last PoUH we had, trusting that whoever said she had extra prayers was right. The side corridors with chaos servants was loor-created and -locked off, center area was ignored for now. To minimize corruption, Rhea then closed the levers. After a while, Fistanarius himself teleported out to re-open the SW lever, and once more allow chaos to enter the world. entering story mode... The fiery demon grabbed the lever, his face consorted with rage. The lever was effortlessly pull back to upright position. His massive bulk then turned toward Rhea, standing between her and the lever as if daring her to come forth. Rhea knew that to take up this challenge would lead to death and sorrow, but had no choice but to advance. Her mind has been fragmented earlier, she had been hearing different voices, making her actions up to now seem like a confusing blur. Lack of healing, sub-standard equipment, low physical attributes...all these were results of her frequent bouts of temporary insanity. However, she was focused now. In her mind was a single voice now, urging her on with unrelentless urgency. Her battle cry ringing, she advanced towards her nemesis. The battle was uneven from the start. Heavy blows were dealt, but damage was received in return. Grievous damage. Cries of help and prayers availed little. With an inhuman expression of delight, the greater Balor sent forth the deadly tendons of his mighty whip one last time. It wrapped around the neck, which snapped like a dry twig. Rhea stepped forward, over the corpse of her fallen BALOR PET. There was also some purple-colored ooze which recently belonged to a tame writhing mass of purple chaos. The Greater Balor looked steadily upon her advancing figure, and though it did not show, there was now doubt in his black heart. That doubt quickly changed do dead certainty as the first blows from the mighty long-lost artifact "Skullcrusher" hit his massive form. Ten blows later, it was all over. The evil physical manifestation of the dread chaos god would trouble the world no more. exiting story mode Greater balor dead, even though it cost me two loyal companions. The lever was handled back, and I spent some time dwiddling about, before I decided to go all-out. I wished for "wands of destruction" (got 4, FYI) and destroyed both levers. Then I went to my trusty friend, the greater earth elemental I had left behind, and shoulder to shoulder we awaited the onslaught. I got pretty corrupted by hits from balors, and had to use two prayers to stay alive, but in the end they were all dead. I then wiped out the rest of the denizens of the level. The 'mental did ghost lords mostly while I took care of the invis-seeing C's. We shared brotherly the j's, mr Mental getting quite deadly by now. Rhea is now standing on the stairs back home. There is one single ghost lord hiding in the SE corner, inside stonewalls. Gate is closed and both levers demolished. I used magical writing sets, but only managed to write 1 chaos resistance scroll. Mana was then 1. I then drank a potion of boost mana, but it didn't help. Failed to write, and writing set lost. We still have two corruptions. Thin and nimble, and 12 eyes. Sorry I had to take a break in the middle of the update. Wife, you know. |

On the way back home, the triumphant Rhea suddenly remembered feeling truly excited at the silence of the walls of the dungeon, and decided to face up to the challenge. Enormous masses of ettins, ogre lords, hill giants, fomorian giants, stone giants, frost giants and a single frost giant tried to smash her into the ground with their humongous clubs, but their blows merely glanced off Rhea's armour. With her trusty Skullcrusher, she mowed her way through her opposition, because as a true merchant, she had only come to fight for one thing: The treasure. Later that day, when she left the Drakalor chain to return home, she smiled with anticipation at the sums the dwarven king would pay to finally get back the famed dwarven artifact Hammerhead that had been lost to the giants centuries ago. She calculated a hefty profit for the rune-covered mace Purifier as well, considering the vast riches of the church... When she came home, the first thing she did was sitting down at her dusty desk she had left only two-and-a-half months ago, taking her abacus, and making a first estimate of the worth of her collected treasures. When she was finished at midnight, the whole town heard her laughing out loud with pure, unadulterated joy...
