i tried using a hex editor and got some pretty strange results, i was wanting to play around with a WoW so i followed the steps above. When i restarted the game, i found myself on the very west side of the map next to the minotaur maze & i was completely unable to '>' my way into any locations although i could walk around in the wilderness as much as i pleased (couldnt scale the mountains without climbing set tho...) has anyone else found this happening to them? |

That happens when you edit the wrong value. It basically moves the Wilderness map into Terinyo. (The way it happened to me). When I exited the Chain, I was able to get back into the real Wilderness map. Don't know if it is relevent. Also, IGF_Lord_Neo of Cheatinginadom has published a group of cheats for Gentrain/ and AdomSage. He got the Cat death removal to work AND found the value for corruption... The message archive of the group is currently down, but you can still get into the files section. |

I got the value for corruption and food and alignment with GameHack ages ago, but you must have GH running on the background (if you want to keep the values freezed). It was 4 byte value if I remember correctly. Pretty easy to find. |

*ahem* my thoughts on cheating are, kind of like some kinds of drink. Only fun when you're alone. This is going to sound REALLY geeky, but playing Adom with more than one person is a great way to make you want to use your own skill. No-one cheats with someone else watching ;) It isn't any fun. What we do is play characters with 24 hour turns. You get one day, then I do. It sounds boring, but its actually hell funny sometimes. Especially for us noobs who die like four times before we get anywhere :) Just a thought, and totally off topic, but hey. |
