Graahk, the trollish mindcrafter, saved the world with his brave efforts and became a great ruler while saving himself 34 times.
He scored 24966444 points and advanced to level 46.
He survived for 0 years, 151 days, 14 hours, 7 minutes and 44 seconds.
(209203 turns)
Ill send it to the hall of fame, but short spoily details under...

Spoiler

Early life: Surprisingly easy. Did the SMC, easy as always with trolls. Then got healing skill, finding a neutral altar on the way. Switched align to N, stayed that way rest of game. Went over to CoC to buy ratling food, did some arena work to buy detect and disarm trap skills. Went back to sac monsters. First problem - reach level 8 for a precrown. Spent some time in ID to level up, then went for precrown. Extremely close - but no crowning. Damn, must have generated an artifact somewhere. Well well. Did PC, ended up on level 9. Going too slowly now, so I decided to get on with the game. I got regular crowning instead to help the game (robes of resistance & acid immunity - great) Normal dwarf quests, got demon to slay Glod, but Nonnak got turned into a purple j, so had to confuse Elder to make him stagger off lever to portal. Found a djinni ring somewhere along the way, Had a near death in DH:2, but managed to run back and go thru the forest instead. Pacified big room with some digging and some wands of door creation. Then was finally level 13 so I could do pyramid. No problems there. Lacking an effective weapon, using orcish spears, but found an crystal tower shield. Took a long while to find wand of teleport in assassin cave, had to use a scroll of magic mapping to find it. Dwarven mystic gave scrolls, and after I went to shave Khelly I had enough to last the game. Before this I went to Darkforge and found an eternium halberd. Did water orb without any problems.
I then started preparing for ToEF. I scummed some gremlins in DH:1, no ring of ice. (but got another scroll, so okay). Found ring of invisibility, but no dragon slaying ammo. Did find a ring of weakness too, so I Decided to go smith up some high metal gear(while building up strength) so I could win in hand-to-hand. Eternium cap, mithril girdle and adamantium boots fixed up. Found lots of crystals (knowledge, power, health and cash) along the way.
Built a bridge of the piranha lake, got high king ring.
Did ToEF at level 19 (came out 20). Had str of 50, but had to use 4 extra healings still.
Dived the Coc, casino had wyrmlance and plenty of slaying ammo. Got master cat ring (First part I confused cats and fled from then, then found an instrument, made them tame and had them killed in combat). Skipped air temple for now to get exp from earth temple. Only one level, still at level 22 now. Went further down Coc, and killed 2 of the grues at level 48. Level 23. Went down the UL. Found and killed an emperor lich with undead slaying ammo. Found the artifact crossbow lying about. Decided I could manage Shazzad-Waazor quest.
Second level down I find a room full of ...greater titans. They were quite resistant to confusion, but managed some after a few tries. Used about 60 spenseweeds and 2 big healing potions and all my giant/humanoid slaying ammo to kill 13 of them. Suddenly I'm level 36. Proceeded down dragon caves which somehow seemed easier now...Dragon slaying ammo for Sxjhsdbfshss after confusing him. Went up to surface, stopping by air temple on my way. I found Blub's mom, killed black unicorn (it even dropped a corpse), traded in for 4 PoCC, and went down and smacked the assassin prince. Needle and Sting - finally. Went down to Mana temple, easy enough, and up to surface. Used the orb a few times, then removed all corruption. Never found any potion of uselessness, sadly enough. I dug around the edges on D:50, handled levers then blasted them with wand of destruction. Killed all balors anyway for exp. With rune-covered trident for demons, and twins for the rest it was a breeze.
The toughest about this char was slow levelling after level 8-9 or so, leading to near deaths in DH:2 and in the ToEF. Never had much problems with aging, found 2 potions of longevity, and I shot any high Ghosts with slaying ammo
I never used damaging mindcraft much in this game, main use was confusing tough opponents then run up and smack them senseless or shoot them dead.

Okay, whats next?

i thought something like that is going to happen - a trollish mindcrafter winner:). molach -> if you are looking for more challenge - i mentioned dark elf monks, rigth?:) you may even go for an UE this time, since dark elves advance somewhat faster:). and since noone posted winner deMonks yet (in this topic), you may be the first to beat that challenge, too:).

Lovely. A WINNER! =) congrats

So its Molach:1 ... everyone else:0

(my own Troll MC died to a greater titan's eternium quarrel [what lame luck] so i didnt feel like starting over)

So i guess we have to determine the next challenge combination. I think the winner of the previous challenge should have the honor of choosing the next race/class. Any objections to this? =) If not, Molach, we await your post.

Mulaia, the dark elven monk, saved the world with her brave efforts and became a great ruler while shaving herself 17 times.
She scored 16342984 points and advanced to level 50.
She survived for 0 years, 146 days, 2 hours, 3 minutes and 2 seconds (149863 turns).

Next challenge ... merchant. There are only two mercahnt winners in the HoF, a hurthling and a gnome.
So try on Orcish merchant (mabye troll is harder, but we need variance)
[I've never gotten a merchant past level 12 either, so mabye someone else can win this]

As promised, here's The story of Mulaia.

A long time ago, in a place far far away...
There was a monestary. It was a mighty structure with high towers. However, the sun never
shone upon this sacred place of worship. It was in the underdark, deep below the surface.
And its inhabitants were all drows, or dark elves. Once they had been as numerous as the
fish in the nearby lake, but their numbers had dwindled, and now there were only nine left.

One long-remembered day the elder monk came to his fellow worshippers, and spoke to them
about the plight that had struck the lands of Arcadia. They were charged with a holy quest
to seek out the Drakalor chain and discover the source of all the troubles. And with these
words the elder set out. After a year had passed, the second-oldert set out, and so it went
each year. After 8 long years had passed, it came upon young Mulaia, the apprentice, to set
out.

Following the elders directions, she came upon the Drakalor chain. She had been advised to find
the village of terinyo. On the way there, she found a site of a battle. It looked like it might
have happened years ago. She recognized the cloak of one of her brethren wrapped around a skeleton
with several crude spears sticking out of it.

After visiting the village she had found she had several options. She chose the most dangerous, to
seek first the outlaw village to southwest, then head northwards to a small but dangerous cave.
In the village she was attacked by a mugger, but managed (somehow) with her quarterstaff to slay it.
She learned to pick pockets, and looked through the shop there.

In the small cave she found two more skeletons of her monastic brothers, but passing them by she
found some weapons, a wooden shield, a studded armor, some kind of blanket and some stairs down.
She decided not to walk down the stairs yet, but instead return to the village. The cave was quite
tough, and she had to pray two times to stay alive.

Equipping a spear she had found, it turned out to be a spear of mayhem, 3d8+1. Rest of stuff was
normal, but now she had a way to clear her way through tough opposition. She sold some stuff, bought
some food, and had a look through the Druid dungeon. At level 4 she found an altar, and were somehow
able to see things from a more neutral perspective...after all, there must be a balance between law
and chaos. She also managed to obtain some precious holy water.

She returned to the small cave, quickly finding the down stairs again. Passing down she found another
altar, a shop selling another spear of mayhem and some herbs. She managed to gather herbs despite not
knowing much about herbs, and became quite healthy and strong of will. She sent her god many gifts
in the form of evil creatures, and was rewarded with a heavy but potent crossbow. Passing through the
entire dungeon the found the remains of four more of her former friends. At last she came upon a
village. And she very nearly was slain by a stone giant lord. She prayed at one point to stay alive,
and managed to dodge the beast. and get out.

Heading to the southwest she came to a big cave in the mountains. She went easily through the first
few levels, then came to an arena. She bought some foodstuffs, then went to fight in the arena. First
fight she notices the staff of her former elder lying on the floor, next to the dried-out husk of him
lying inside a cocoon spun of spiderweb. Crossing herself quickly, finally knowing that she is the
last of the dark elven monks, she faces her challenge and dispatches it with a flurry of savage blows.
She fights more, but one of her opponents is a wild cat. The creature dies easy, but she hears a
noise echoing hate and sorrow from somewhere below her.

Returning to the unremarkable dungeon, with plenty of food, exp level of 11 and some gold to burn,
she continues to please her deity with gifts until she receives a mighty gift - the wyrmlance.
And to quote the scriptures: "The lord did grin" as he passed on the gift.

Rest of story will just describe what happened in the game, and is somewhat spoily.

Spoiler

She was born in the raven sign by the way, which probably helped a great deal in early survival.
She got teleport control from a blink dog, and had found a pool in the UD as well. Drinking from the
pool got her paralysis resistance, -fire and -poison (always seems to happen), +acid and +teleport.
Teleportitis got her into the HMV secret room for the scroll (it later was nuked in a door blow).
She went down to dwarftown, grabbing the si, and got a quest to kill an ettin. She gave a blessed
carrot juice to blup for swimming, then decided to do underwater cave at level 15. She used spenseweed
while waiting for teleport to kick in, teleported to blup's mom, talked to her, had to drink a blessed
ultra healing pot, and got out. While doing pyramid (I think) I got the rune-covered trident.
Dwarven graveyard was easy now, on the surface I started to dig up graves. From the first one an
emperor lich jumps out. I run away...
Btw there were many vaults in the game, two in UD, one in PC, and one in upper CoC. Lack of spellbooks,
But she is doing very well in melee. Dwarven quests are very easy. She then does Darkforge. Decides to
drink from pools again for a wish (I had found a ring of teleport control). It took seven turns to CoC
to get rid of dooming, but no wish. I did get perm invis though. And -poison (lucky its easy to
get back). I did RotHK easy enough with a wand of cold found in the shop in UD.

I then used water trap/gremlin scum in DH:2, picked up some good corruptions (-dx is only
nice at this points, just using moss of m. for greater dex later. And now the real lucky thing:
I pickpocket some shining silver bracers from a dumb gremlin! No problems now, eh?
Only problem is, I want to shave Khelly. A bit because I only have two PoCC, and have only 89 climbing,
and about 7 corruptions. None bad, but I still feel threatened. I get tired of pickpocketing, and
looking at my inventory and hps I decide to do ToEF. I have eternium helm and boots, somewhat smithed,
adamantium girdle and a red dragon scale mail. And I have wyrmlance and rune-covered :). Clearing it
out never was that easy, I even went and killed most of the other critters there (didn't realize that
grues were demons, and slayable by trident). Coming out at level 23 really helped. Also I let the
ACW corpse cook for another PoCC. AND, the last ring I pick up on my way out turns out to be RoDS.

So I rush down CoC, shave Khelevaster, rip through water temple and Guardian, and casino. I spot a
greater fire vault before casino, but using a wand of item detection I see its an artifact missile,
and decide to explore a bit more before coming back.

Casino had nothing much to brag about, I go up to the surface and do the rift now that climbing is
100. I only bring my worn equipment (mostly eternium and artifacts) and carry a lot of trash (so my
climbing set has a higher survival expectancy). Bingo - it lived. I rip through Rift dungeon and
likewise library. Pick up much spellbooks (finally) and weird tome. Visit minstrel, then more Coc.

I continue through a lesser berserker vault which somehow manages to drop "skullcrusher".
My plan is to exp up in the earth temple, but I only get 2 levels there. Still diving, and then I get
my prize, another greater fire vault. And this one had 8-ish great wyrms in it. How lucky I have a
wyrm-lance...

After this I'm level 45, got executor and scorched spear. I debate with myself whether to go for ultra.
I got all I need itemwise except giant boar skull. And being late in the evening I want to finish up.
I could most definately go through with it, even if it means scumming surface 100 days for a boar.
Im pretty sure I could have managed to switch back to L+ (would have been more hassle at that level
though) so only question is whether I could have killed Andy. I'll leave that question open.
(He would have gone down soooo bad)

Decided to do normal ending, I get crowned with acid immunity and...Gauntlets of Eternal peace!
Jeeez that's gotta suck if you get the gift at level 10 or something.

I also got "Serpents bite" from some random monster, found "Crown of leadership" in the first
greater fire vault. I see from -flg file that Staff of archmagi, ring of immunity and "ironfist"
were generated. Well I was going pretty fast through my dungeouns after ToEF heh.

I did do blue dragon caves, mana temple, decided to just go for D:48 (since I had all kind of slayers
for D:50 anyway. Uselessness gift - hammer of the gods. Then I enter the dizzy level...

I decide to do a kill-all-them-critters-ending here. So I go right west, fighting through the jellies.
Magic missiled most to death, then shot some with ever-abundant jelly-slaying ammo. I shut the chaos
mutants in with doors, and locked them there. Then I enter the big room with Ghost lords and Chaos
warriors. And then I look in my inventory and see 4 blessed scrolls of familiar summoning.
I read them all, getting 3 greater and one normal earth elemental (is this very lucky or this kind
of thing normal btw?). Im invis, they are not, and there follows a very fun fight, actually.
I slay some, wielding skullcrusher for chaos warriors and wizards, and trident for ghosts and balors.
One of my (greater) pets chickens out and runs away, but the rest of them keep killing, regenerating,
and gathering exp. All balors in central room dies (mostly to my trident, I must say), I kick in the
walls to the levers and handle each of them. I shut the rest of the greater chaos servants in with
locked doors again, zap a wand of monster detection and chase down and destroy 2 ghost lords that
managed to panic away.

Leaving CoC, I head up in triumph, I remove corrupoins at unicorn's place then leave.
(I could of course have gotten sting easy enough, and TotRR is just a matter of slaying EM. But
score didn't really interest me, I was just going to bed...)

Next challenge ... merchant. There are only two mercahnt winners in the HoF, a hurthling and a gnome.
So try on Orcish merchant (mabye troll is harder, but we need variance)
[I've never gotten a merchant past level 12 either, so mabye someone else can win this]

Oh yeah finish up your Delf monkies too.

I'm still working on my Trollish Mindcrafter, whom I had forgotten about until just recently. She is level 11 and is trying to become at least neutral before progressing to the CoC.

I came very close to death last night when I brought her to the bottom floor of the PC. She encountered a Skeletal Warrior which brought her HP to half, and soon fought a lightning lizard whose lightning attack reduced her HP to 4. With two tiles between us and 97 speed, I chose a random wand and killed it with cold bolt.

that mindcrafter must have decent wi then... (as wi tells how much damage a zap deals, and lightning lizards have lotsa hp) or the lizard was already injured;).

if i were you, i'd dive to the coc - chaotics get a guarantee gray altar in the dwarftown, so what's the reason to avoid coc while chaotic?

that's true, but i believe it's more worthy to ignore precrowning totally and go to the pyramid (ankh is usually my best amulet found through the whole game)...

Naarz. L50 orcish merchant (M). 19362494 xps.
149318 turns. Won on 7/25/2005.
He saved the world with his brave efforts and
became a great ruler while saving himself 15 times.

Short unspoily details (I hope):
My first attempt on orcish merchant. Started out
with specialty with potions. And starting gift:
1 potion of gain attributes (Didn't use it untill
much later though). Orcish merchant was not so
hard to keep alive, as he starts with a studded
leather armor [-1, +3] which helps a bit. After I
found a shield and some metal caps/belt it was a
winner. Nice set of skills too, detect item status
is quite helpful in the beginning, find weakness
is always good, and alchemy as well.
Started out on the month of the candle might have
helped too (No, I did not scum for birthsigns).
Some spoily details:

Spoiler

Exps are quite low. Most of my chars' exp actually come from killing the balors on level 50. However I used a wish on "scrolls of familiar summoning", got 3 and it turned out one greater and one regular earth elemental. They slayed quite a few balors for me (I tried to get kills for myself, but they stole the kill many times.
I actually found an amulet of life saving for khelly...normally I have to wish for them.
Had somewhat weak weapons throughout the game, trident for level 50 of course, but otherwise I had to use an eternium spear of slaughtering (3d10 +8 or something) for most of the game.
Closest call was Nuurag-vaarn who managed to blast me down to 65 hps (out of 500+).
There was an altar on ToEF level 2, I lured ACW there, but only got the message "GET IT AWAY FROM HERE" when I tried to sac it. Turned out to be pretty easy to melee anyway, so...
