This may seem like a completely trivial question, but where did everyone get their ID names from? Mine's obviously the great philosoper Aristotle, but I was just wondering about everyone else. Is this a really sad topic or what?!

I like topics like this. Never stop thinking.

As you may have heard, my complete name is Palagran Ka'rael Deshain. Let's just say it came to me. ;)

Don't know why I'm writing here seeng as my name is kinda obvios ;-)

On other forums/clubs/games I'm known as eitehr Sherool or Dorn Beast though, the second is again rather obvious (*HUMPF*)... Sherool however is actualy a mis-spelling of a name provided to me by the random-name generator on the Discworld MUD. To the best of my knowledge it doesn't mean anyting, but I kinda like it, and after loosing dozens of acounts around the Internett simply bevcause I couldn't remember my username I descided to stick with it :-)

I always played ADOM with the name Caladriel, to see if something special happened with the Phial. I never noticed anything, but I got used to the name.

Palagran: I think I am missing some obvious connection. Is your name simply made up?

Palagran: Of course I can say that. I can say the moon is made of green cheese, if I so wished. (which is it, btw; all this talk of moon rocks is a government conspiracy) What I am wondering is whether or not you would (truthfully) say that. :-)

Inferrence, man.

I think I need to think of more ways to be ambiguous, lest I be forced to lie. Hehe.

Ahh, Yes, you can say that truthfully.

I often use name Aristos. I means "~= the best" in the Greek language (ancient Greek, I am not sure about the modern one).

I am the mighty firelord from the Enchanted Lands. I don't know where I got my name but I believe that my master gave it to me. I never knew my father or my mother but now I have chosen the Darkness and when I finally get the long searched Emerald Sword in my hands I will defeat the Warrior of Ice and troops of light and I'll control the whole universe. Some people always manage to mix up my nick with a philosoper whose sur name was Locke. But I got my nick from *the* console RPG Final Fantasy 6 (3 in the US). One of the characters in the game's called Locke and he's a thief... Erm... I mean treasure-hunter, of course! (And FF3-fan will understand).

My nick is more trivial than yours - one day my brother hadn't any idea for a nick, so he click random keys ;) So my nick is just a flood without any meaning (someone said that fgn is abbr. for Fine Girl Naked hehehehe)

hey fgn, what does your signature mean btw? 'pysk' at least is a word (meaning 'chicken', if I remember right) in 'corn', the (now-dead) celtic native language of Cornwall...(which is located in southwest England)

He broke two ribs and his disc fell.

hm... there's also the other version of this song

wlazl kotek na plotek
uderzyl go mlotek
siekierka dobila
koteczka zabila
a potem niezywy
wpadl w pokrzywy

a cat climbed a fence
a hammer hit it
an axe destroy
and killed the kitten
and then, the dead kitten
fall down into nettles

No wonder if you don't understand that ^
:)

My name? err...I was signing up for a mud called Rock(best mud ever made...too bad it crashed) I tried the name tek. It was too short. So I made it Tekki. I liked that name so much that I just stuck with it on 90% of the things I've signed up for...so if you ever see a tekki...say hi :)

Names heh?
Well I needed a name for my Elvish mage\fighter in Dungeon Quest (or is it Heros Quest??) and came up with mine. (Heros Quest I think.) Anyway I liked it and kept it. (My other name Dhrakah was adapted from the WOT books and used exclusively in Pheonix Mud.)
