Since when do spiders, well... Cave fishers to be accurate, are able to TELEPORT at will?

I think my game is seriously messed up. Aside form the teleporting cave fishers I have found 200+ speed Chaos sisters in the lowers CoC, Lafull ochre jellies, and uber-goblins dealing over 80 points of damage in single hits (lower CoC also)... Not to mention weird altar-god behaviour. I haven't managed to convert any altars i've found (1 chaotic, 3 neutrals, not counting the one in Dwarf Town) to lawfull, no matter what I do, or what I sacrifice.

It's a miracle my latest char managed to get to dwarf town.

'Since when do spiders, well... Cave fishers to be accurate, are able to TELEPORT at will?' - no, they aren't able to teleport at will. Only if it has triggered a teleport trap or someone/thing has teleported it. Monster memory may claim that it's able to teleport, but it isn't true.

Chaos sisters/brothers are indeed very fast. Experienced chaos sister's speed may be over 200.

Goblins may do that much damage, if they are very very extremely experienced, but it has more likely hit you in a special effect room.

Well... monster memory says: "They are able to teleport" and well... they teleport all the time!!
I usually fight them dang spiders in corridor-bottle necks so only one of them hits me... But with this particular char the spooty Cave fishers just teleport behind me and surround me, or teleport away when they pannic.
First time happend in a spider vault, and I went: "wtf?" and since then, every last cave fisher seems to be trained in mind craft ¬¬

Hasn't anyone encountered this before? Am I the victim of a weird once-in-a-millenia-bug or some alien invasion of spiders?

The monster memory actually says the teleport? I'd be interested in seeing that as well. twinge[at]gmail[dot]com

The goblin was probably either berferking or you were in a 'muffled sound' room.

Lawful ochre jellies? Do you simply mean that they were friendly to you (confirmation message if you try to attack)? That can happen fairly rarely for any monster.

The monster memory claims that whichever monster can teleport, if you only see it happen (if it triggers a tele-trap for instance). It's same with petrification. If a monster manages to resist petrification one time, monster memory says it is immune to it, and next turn you still manage to petrify it.

Hmm, interesting. I don't use the monster memory much so I was unaware of this... bug/feature.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. Monster Memory is based on what the PC sees, not on what the monsters actually do.
