This is a strange one. As i get stronger most other creatures get more easy to kill. however spiders and jackels seem to grow more powerful as i do.... why do these 2 creatures get so much stronger than me (i used to be able to kill em in 1-2 shots and now that i am way stronger it takes 9-10 shots!!!) can anyone explain this |

They get more experienced when u kill heaps of em.Over 100 and u will start to get some sport from them. Around 150 kills chance of running on "über"-jackal is allready quite high... by überjackal I mean jackal dealing some 200-400hp worth damage on one turn. This same thing aplies to other monsters too including spiders, wolves, jellies(if u let them spread),etc. Only thing I can figure to make changes of getting head to head against these damn überjackals is to avoid them when I can(wilderness and kill that werejackal asap when u see it) |

They're a damn nuiscance at times, and are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of mid-lvl characters. Towards the end of the game its absolutely mental at how much damage they can do. Ladies and Gentleman, take my advice. Pull down your pants, and slide on the ice. |

And of course, you get less exp too after you kill a bunch of the same monster (logic: You are not learning any new moves after 200 identical kills) |

The player attacks a jackal. The jackal misses the player. The player hit the jackal and killed him. The ghost of a death jackal flew into your body. You feel stronger. The player misses you... Side note: This is ADOM from the view of a going-to-be-death-soon jackal. It should explains the reason why... My RL dumpyard: http://www.geocities.com/ceruleannebula/index.html |

...lol jackals getting stronger from dead jackals?? sounds sort of weird to me... Better then: They are like that because the game mechanics is defined as such ;) My RL dumpyard: http://www.geocities.com/ceruleannebula/index.html |

No, its Darwinism (Dwarvinism?) Survival of the fittest. All those jackals that are slain early are weak. Those that survive are tougher, and produce tougher offspring, leading to the evolution upgrade of the "über-jackal". Its the same with brain cells. We all know the alchohol kills brain cells. But of course these cells that die are the weak ones. So naturally, your brain will gradually become better as you continue to kill of the weak brain cells. So excessive drinking makes you smarter. |

or maybe the main programmer just didnt want you to get too much experience too fast by killing lots of the same monster..... |

Exactly. Otherwise people could easily gain several levels, i.e. using gremlin-scumming. You drop the golden ball. You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west. Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?" Which direction? (123456789) 4 Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated. You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd! |

Yes, indeed; but I would simply take the experience gains down until, after 200 or so, you're only getting 1 XP per monster. Monster experience levels should increase far less quickly. Die Gedanken sind Frei |

Well, the ol´ myth is that good ol´ Thomas wrote 100 where he should have written 10, and thus the levels increase way way faster then they were meant to be.. http://tankefel.blogspot.com/ So far you have only killed one wild cat. |
