my friend just made a gnome beastfighter account and decided to make the puppy quest his first quest. On one of the puppy cave's levels, he found an eternium halberd... as a level 1.

Anyone else have amazing finds such as these?

Yeah, the puppy cave will do that sometimes. I've found 7lb's, artifacts, and once even a sword of sharpness. Also, I seem to get a lot more shops, pools, altars, and such in the puppy cave, as opposed to the VD. Congrats on your halberd, use it well.

I encountered many kinds of eternium weapons, a quicksilver quarterstaff, and a 7lb once in level 1, although I never seem to find artifacts in any of my games(apart from crownings and guaranteed ones), even in vaults.

I remember that time when I climbed down to UD:1, and on the very stairs I entered the level on, found "worn boots 30s", seven leagus indeed. (They were destroyed later on, and the PC died...)
You drop the golden ball.
You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west.
Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?"

Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated.
You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd!

I was clearing the Temple of Air with mighty Improved Fireballs with Wi 64, fried everything to bits with two hits. Loot burned down like mad - I just managet to take few thingies apart from junk like adamanttium ringmails from there... Suddenly, after one of the LARGE explosions I've noticed a wand several squareas away from me. I had to cast another fireball in order to clear elementals and demons, and that fireball would cretainly cover the wand.

Thing is that during all my previous games I never found a cretain type of most precious wands, and even ceased believing that I'll ever get one...

However, I decided to test my luck, and rushed towards it.. Obviously to be surrounded by air fiends.. (With DV/PV of ~115/45 that wasn't much problem, though)..

And suddenly! - ... a Glowing Wand is lying here!!

Wand of Wishing (2 charges)! At last!

P.S.: When my victorious dark elven wizard headed for Drakalor Chain exit a final charge from this wand remained unwrenched - I simply counldn't imagine a thing he was really lacking.

P.P.S.: I'll post flg of this char as soon as I finish writing the story and vast comments to all details.

I once found an inid'd wand. (I repeat : ONCE)
And it just might have been glowing. (Oksy, it was)
And I was playing a wizard.
And I was in the process of gaining more PP.
I had a certain corruption.

So I'll never know how many wishes it might have had. I got the break-wand wish at least.

So what? Just wrench a final charge from WoWi. You'll still get one wish. Not 3, 4 or 5 but still something.

I decided to test heir-barbarian again. :D
I entered the SMC, and guess what people, the first item I pick up is a lawful eternium two-handed sword of damnation (+18, 6d5+18 [-1, +0 ]
not bad, not bad... :D
Well, it'll make me doomed, but anyway.. Btw, does the damnation make me doomed when I used the sword, or is it permanent?

Dooming will stop as soon as you take the sword off... If you don't pick it up elsewhere that is.

Although I'm not quite sure about that... Is it possible to wear a -foo- of damnation to avoid getting doomed permanently by a pool or shop-robbing?

Nope. But you'd get poor pool effects because of the doom anyway so..
