Is asking for help. The thing is, I've been playing for some two years, sometimes more, sometimes less or not at all. Now, I've never got into late-game part, and it seems that I'm stuck on the same things on the game, I never get progress. I've been reading guidebook quite much, and naturally made some progress, but still, somehow I don't catch the 'red line' of it. In other words, I kinda need personalized help in making some progress. And whoopee, I figured that maybe someone here might want to help. So, at the moment I am playing trollish (came by random) elementalist. He is now lvl 10, and I'm quite satisfied with him, he has 36/ 23 Dv/Pv when tactic is set to normal. Attack bonus is +19, 2d4+16 . I have plenty of daggers, but I use eternium-one atm. Stats are , well, like trolls tend to have, very unbalanced. Need to train with Garth and herbs. I have completed puppy quest, black druid quest, Slain Hotzenplotz, completed Thrundarr's first quest.. Planning to complete the animated tree-quest next, but not sure about it.. So, my goal is just to get to the next point from this. I want to just get to the beginning of late-game. So tell me what would be best thing to do next, and actually I'd like to hear how you play the beginning and mid-game. Somehow, I get a feeling that it's very hard to complete few places, like the Pyramid, because there's the level restriction. I have slain and looted Rehetep and his stuff, but only once with invisible hurthling archer ( with throwing rocks to him as long as possible and then scorching with fire). Okay, this turned out quite long and not-easy-to-read, so if you want more specific info or something, just ask. I'll be glad if someone can be arsed to answer :D |

Ensinnäkin troll on huono race ja elementalist on vaikea class. Ja koska elementalistit saavat lisää taikoja ja niiden käyttökertoja joka levelillä, nopea tasojen saanti on tärkeää. Siksi troll on tähän sitäkin huonompi valinta. :P Kirjoituksestasi jäi todellakin aika epämääräinen kuva.. Voisitko hieman tarkentaa, mitä haluat tietää ja missä haluat apua? Kuitenkin, jos mielit voittaa pelin, lue kaikki mahdolliset spoilerit, kysy täältä neuvoa jos epäröit jostain, ja älä luovuta. ;) |

Sorry, it'll be a bit easier to communicate in finnish with Echo, so.. ;) Kuten sanoin, peikko tuli randomilla, iski suuri tylsyys. Ja tiedän myös, että elementalisti on huono vaihtoehto, varsinkin peikon kanssa, muuta kuitenkin, pelataan nyt sillä kun kuitenkin jossain määrin lupaavalta vaikuttaa. Sanotaan näin: Mitä tekisit seuraavaksi? En osaa päättää, jäänkö keräämään jonnekkin leveleitä vai menenkö eteenpäin, jotta saan kerättyä mahdollisimman paljon kaikkea tavaraa, josta on hyötyä esimerkiksi pyramidissa. Vai kannattaako koko paikkaan edes vaivautua menemään? Se on vain niin houkuttava paikka... :D ---------------------------- Btw, I like to play with dwarves, especially beastifighters. They tend to survive longest in my hands :P Do you think it's a good idea to go quickly to CoC and complete Thrundarr's first quest to get the potion of literacy? I've been doing so couple of times, and this way the beastfighter gains literacy, and is quite tough fighter, too... |

Pyramid kannattaa käydä tyhjentämässä, sillä ankh on erittäin kätevä amuletti ja ancient mummy wrapping antaa hyvän suojan lisäksi death ray resistanssin. Ja se on välttämättömyys esim. mana temppelissä. Tiedät varmaan tämän mutta elementalistin tulisi käyttää loitsuja mahdollisimman vähän ja käyttää meleetä ja missile aseita mahdollisimman paljon. Jos sinusta tuntuu, että hahmosi on liian heikko ja/tai se tarvitsee parempia tavaroita, reissu infinite dungeoniin tekee ihmeitä. ;) Dwarven beastfighter on yhdistelmä jonka olen itsekin huomannut erittäin hyväksi pelattavaksi. Mutta voisimpa jopa suositella sinulle human barbaaria. Niillä on aloituksessa erittäin hyödyllinen amulet of luck ja mehukas kahdenkäden miekka. Tässä juuri eilen voitinkin ADOMin toisen kerran kyseisellä race/class yhdistelmällä! ;) Edit: Niin, kysyit mitä sinun tulisi tehdä tässä vaiheessa. No mitä sinulla on vielä tekemättä? Ennen kuin ryntäät ToEFiin sinun tulisi ainakin olla käynyt seuraavissa paikoissa: -Pyramid -Dwarven graveyard -TotHK -Darkforge -Dwarftown -(Water temple) Kun nuo paikat olet kolunnut, pitäisi alkaa jo harkita ToEFin valtaamista. not actually a spoiler but the post will be in finnish so... (it does contain some spoilers though) Spoiler Ku teet sitä animated forest questiä, nii hommaa kaks kilpee, ja invisibility, käytä coward tacticsia ja koita mennä nii nnopeesti ku mahollista. Pyramidi ei oikeestaan oo kovinkaan vaikee jos on detect traps (ja disarm traps), sillä se reitti on aina sama, ja se Rehetep kuolee helposti. Varsinki jos oot spellcasteri, nii käytä siellä ylimmäsä kerroksesa kahta kilpee ja coward tacticsia. Ja tapa vaan rehetep jos mahollista, ja ota sen tavarat ja lähe sieltä, sillä se pyramidi ei mee kiinni jos Rehetep on kuollu, siis voit myöhemmin käydä tyhjentään sen jos siltä tuntuu. Ja dwarven graveyardilla on hyvä olla invisibility, sillä ne pintakerroksen viholliset ei nää sua, ja niistä ei tartte välittää kuhan et vahingoissa törmää niihin. Ennenku meet rappuja alas Darkforgeen kannattaa yrittää tapaa se steel golemi joka seisoo niillä rapuilla, ja jos se tuntuu hankalalta, niin kannattaa oottaa vähä myöhempään ennenku menee sinne. TotHK ei oikeestaan oo vaikee paikka jos on wand of ice tai jäätaikoja tai bridgebuilding ja paljo logeja. Mutta ne luolat saattaa olla vähä hankalia ku ne on cavernous (siis ne on vaan isoja huoneita, ei paljo käytäviä). Se ite skeletal king ei oo kovinkaan vaikee, mutta ei kannata yrittää meleellä, ku sillä on confuse. ok, what I wrote was pretty much like this: Spoiler when doing the animated forest quest, use 2 shields, coward tactics and invisibility detect traps is useful in the pyramid, kill Rehetep with fire, 2 shields + coward if wizard etc. stays open if Rehetep is dead at the dwarven graveyard use invisibility, since the top level monsters don't see invisible before going down the stairs to Darkforge, try killing the Steel golem. TotHK might be hard because the cavernous levels and the skeletal king uses confusion Sorry for writing in finnish, but this guy seemed to understand finnish a lot better than english. Nah, I understand english almost as good as finnish, so there's no problem... Thanks for the tips, Usually I haven't survived to pyramid with spellcasters. But once I get home, It'll be time to test. I have save-scummed with a gnome barbarian, cleared all those places and steel golems were easy in HtH, but anyways, savescumming was boring so I erased the files :D |

One thing that I haven't figured out yet is (*shamy*) how to bless items. I have read guidebook, but either I have problems in reading or it isn't said very clearly there. |

You can bless items by dipping them into Holy water Spoiler you can get holy water by dropping water of any status on an altar of your alignment if you are close enough to your deity (-deity- seems to be very pleased with you) You can also mass bless items with certain scrolls, but I won't spoil you with that ^^ "I don't know what World War 3 will be fought with, but I know World War 4 with be fought with sticks and stones." - Albert Einstein |

The fireball wand you get from thundarr is perfect for killing Rhetep, and the ancient munny wrappings are good to wear when vs Nonnak> If you have scrolls of magic map and/or invisibilty or teleport, you can go thru the dwarven halls instead of the ani-forest. Also, maybe consider using different weapons than daggers, unless you find an artifact dagger, or a dagger of mayhem/destruction/death> bloody daggers are good as well, theyre orcish ones, but do better damage and improved criticals. another good way to get exp, is to reduce your characters speed, as exp from monsters is somehow related to your speed> items such as clothes/armour of sloth, boots of the slow shuffle, and being burdened and bloated reduce speed, so when you fight a big monster get it to critically damaged, reduce speed and then finish it off> you can easily get at least an extra 50% exp *<< Words go here >>* |

Ok, I'll tell you Spoiler you can bless a heap of items by repairing them with a blessed scroll of repair, but first the whole heap must be broken, and that can be done by reading a cursed scroll of repair, this is a great way to get those cooked lizards blessed Damn, you broke me down... I have a certain problem. When I try to read a spellbook, it gets interrupted because of Teleportitis. I have teleport control as intrincic though, but still it interrupts the spellbook-reading. Is there some areas where teleportitis doesn't work? Or what way I should deal with this? |

you can keep trying hoping for the best, or: Spoiler Teleportis doesnt kick in when your in the chaos temples, or the cat lord stage> but they are also quite corrupty places. One way that seemed to solve this was to read the spellbook while I was under attack, strange... Maybe it is true: Teleportitis doesn't work when you're surrounded by enemies :P |

Tomb of the high king is also no-teleport and according to The Guidebook it only has a corruption factor of 1 (2 after day 90). Also, AFAIK no monsters spawn there. Sytytä toiselle tuli ja hän pysyy lämpimänä jonkin aikaa. Sytytä hänet palamaan ja hän pysyy lämpimänä loppuelämänsä. |

That character I mentioned about (troll elementalist) has been dead for long, but i just couldn't be arsed to tell :P Anyways, I went to pyramid with my drakish ( i know, she will catch problems in certain areas) ranger, went next to Rehetep, cast fireball, and the pussy died like lil child.. I never knew he was that easy to beat :D Next, I think that I will wonder around for a little while, then complete dwarven graveyard. I Have no plans for the move after that. |

Ah shit, I just wrote quite long post and accidentally opened&closed another page... Yeehaw... Anyways, to put it shortly, I am currently playing with drakish ranger, lvl 19, that got crowned (got Nature's Friend), lvl 12 on swords, lvl 6 on crossbows and several levels on other missile weapons. I have completed Thrundarr's quests, cleared the Pyramid, got Ring of High Kings... Ask if you want more specific information. How hard the rift is? I haven't cleared darkforge or Tower of Eternal Flames yet. |
