Damn it! Awesome game on the go. Lv 25 DE Priest. Slaying all before him. Waltzed through the ToEF, crowned with Purifier, had the Ring of the Master Cat, Rolf's Saviour, Girdle of Giant Strength, Crown of Leadership and some other nifty stuff. Heard a *THUMB* sound and immediately legged it towards the stairs.Turned a corner and a Titan shot me. Down to 20 Health, I managed to take a nice healing drink, my last one, got to the end of the corridor and then he shot me again, critically wounded me and I karked it on the spot....... Grrrr and Arghhh Ladies and Gentleman, take my advice. Pull down your pants, and slide on the ice. |

Unfortunately I didn't. Hadn't found a spellbook of Etheral Bridge, even in the casino, and had used my wand of teleportations previously. Oh well......time to restart I guess. Ladies and Gentleman, take my advice. Pull down your pants, and slide on the ice. |

Instead of running through the corridor, you probably should've recharged your wand with booze... Alas, it's over now. i'm guessing the big bad water dragon sat on top of him :P but yeah, life goes on. i still mourn over my awesome gnomish bard who died to 3 consecutive critical hits from a werewolf king two weeks ago. Taz: A potion of gain attributes (4s) is lying here. Suddenly a stone block hits your head! Something on the ground is smashed to pieces! PeanutGod: Awwww no! How harsh is that! This is where you need the artefact 'mop and bucket'. |

Taz is right. Look for "Potrina" in YASD section. I've then gone on to play another character who successfully stole a wand of wishing from the water dragon. Check for "Krijol" in Winner section. You never stop to die because of stupidity though. Lost awesome dwarven paladin to ACW recently because I was too much of a cheapskate about my PoEH (His energy attack killed me), and I forgot to equip an amulet of death ray resistance in the Mana Temple, which cost me a sure-winner orcish healer. A good way to stop things from bolting, breathing, or shooting you from a distance in a long hall or wherever, is a wand of door creation. They can't shoot or breathe through the door if it is closed. Some monsters can break down the doors, but they have to close the distance and get next to it, giving you precious time to run or teleport away. And if you lock the door, you can block out many nuisance creatures. I've saved myself from Titans numerous times with the door creation trick. One time, I was going through the second round of 20 Arena fights for cash (after you become champion). Problem is, what you go up against is very random and can involve end game monsters. I had no wand of teleport, didn't have the spell. I only had teleportitis with no control. So I go into the arena, and there is the Titan. Starts shooting me with eternium bolts and nearly kills me. I create a door and hide behind it. Titan walks over, opens the door. I close it on him, lol. He opens it again, I close it again. I'm just praying that my teleportitis kicks in. Titan smashes the door, I simply create a new one and we go back and forth with opening it. Eventually teleportitis works and I'm saved. Giants throwing rocks, quicklings shooting bolts, dragons and wyrms breathing at you - just make a door and slam it shut on them! |

Yeah, I found it amusing later after my heart slowed down :) That character must have been very strong, yanking the door back and forth with a Titan, heh. I wonder how much PV it takes to avoid taking damage from their bolts. Shame you cant pick up doors and use them as shields, nothing gets through them, best armour in the game. Now I'm sure that ancient red dragon hide would provide better protection than my front door, but not in ADOM !!!. I want a tin of whatever varnish they put on doors in ADOM. |

Just a thought (spoily): Spoiler do doors in certain location of certain level always have the same trap ? And aren't doors created with a cursed wand of door creation always trapped and closed (maybe even locked) If that is the case then one amusing way of getting rid of titans might be Spoiler
creating a door in corridor in their way with c\oDC in such a location it creates a stone block trap. When the titan tries to open/smash the door it triggers the trap and is hit by a stone block. Or the stunning traps..would be alot more helpful. The reason why I am frikkin scared to death of greater moloch's when I'm level 30 isn't that they're insanely powerful, it's that there is NO escape from them.
