I lost my last two wizards due to some sort of crash or error. Decent characters, too. Is there anyhing I am doing to trigger them, and is there anything I could do to prevent/minimize them? Thanks. "Your alternatives are locked, wisehead!" |

I'm playing the DOS version of ADOM, and it very rarely crashes on me. If you're using the winbeta version, a switch may be worth a try. Otherwise, if the crashing is a regular problem, saving is acceptable. You drop the golden ball. You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west. Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?" Which direction? (123456789) 4 Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated. You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd! |

Finding items that should be identified for you, but arent for some reason tends to cause crashes. Metallurgy and ores/ingots cause this a lot of times. As do huuuuge piles of items. |

I once crashed a really nice Trollish Barbarian that I was about to win the game with by asking Thrundarr about "quest" one last time for the heck of it... Molach: "I like to have 200+ hp and over 5 good healin potions when I do [the fire] temple. AND some way of killing the Wyrm" Morio: "Some way of killing the worm is recommended, yes :D" |
