Well I'm not sure about that Mr Punk - Its a pretty tough mental blow when you realise that one of your ring fingers is strangely naked for some reason. The only time I ever succeeded in getting the one ring, I promptly lost it a few levels later wading too carelessly through a cavernous level. Didn't even notice at the time. Ball spells can be dangerous. My PC was depressed for at least 2000 turns. |

For this reason I wouldn't wear it all the time. The ring is perfectly safe in the backpack during catkilling and you will do well against your everyday monster without it. Also too many worn artifacts accelerate food consumption. I usually only put it on for the big battles (temples, undead vaults, casino, andy, ...). |

I think the chances of the Cat's eye ring exploding would be quite small for most players. If you manage to get through the beginning and middle game, without killing any cats, the late game should be a breeze. You would have an increased visible radius, improved PV, numerous taming/escape methods, and most likely some potions of exchange. The only thing I could think of, that would be a disadvantage, would be walking tank syndrome. Put me in the 'fool filter', where I belong! |
