On UD:7 I came across an interesting sight. A bunch of moderately experienced jackals, apparently summoned by a jackalwere, were fighting each other. Even more amazing was that, even though the maximum PV I had encountered was still one, most of my attacks failed to penetrate the jackal's defenses. eventually a (presumably jackal) WMoPC came a killed me.

muffled and quiet room. Makes monsters more likely to score insta-kills. nice :D

the egg room is also quite annoying for melee chars (makes you rarely pierce defense, but you'll get the same defense bonus), and the magical shock (esp. when you're a mage early one with <100 mana)

Some of the room messages can be scummed way too easily, like the satiation rooms, I once got a forge in a room like that, piece of cake smithing and etc, no food required

Scummed? Naw. If you scum anything else than saves, quit playing ADOM.

Forges in satiation rooms cannot be scummed. Forges never appear in ID.

Using the ID for any purpose is some sort of scumming, if you think about it...

Then again, isn't killing monsters in the same way "scumming for XP", then?

Yeah, taking their poor lil lives for your own good, after all that's what scumming is: taking advantage of something in the game, in this case, monsters. Very interesting Silfir, I'll try to kill less monsters :D NOT!!!!

You could of course try completing the game only killing Andor Drakon (as has been done before, though it required a lot of scumming of other things to make the character able to beat him, and pets were obviously required to dispatch of all enemies).

The most easily scummed room mesasges would be those which alter stats.

I've gotten Perception pretty high from the "carrot smell" rooms, so I'm guessing that this is not capped.

The -St +Le could be used, as long as your St is around 16-18 it should train naturally, but the Le gain would be cumulative.

And the +Ap would also work as long as your Ap is high enough. (Items help, don't they..?)

Get these 3 stats very high by ID-scumming, then drink a few potions of exchange till you get your power-stats high. To/Wi/St for example.

I've gotten perception very high from hunting Filk deep in the ID before - up to around 70 or so. You end up finding a lot of potions of carrot juice in there. Ap increased nicely too, and Ch got a reasonable boost from the mirror effect. Actrively scumming it would be quite easy - just keep going up and down the same staircase. I'd feel a bit cheap doing that though, to be honest.

Battle Bunny, aren't you the same person that accused people who voted yes on "Will you continue playing ADOM after Jade?" as heretics :D

Yes, it was me. Just because you should play the new acolyte, JADE, then, not the good ol' ADOM. Of course the statement doesn't apply if JADE will be bad.
