its true, all those key bindings really help when you have to type things like:

w69w6w2666Db:pyrdSy

(run to the right, go up to the right, run to the right again, run down, stab stab stab, pick up all, identify, save and exit :p)

Yeah, I recently took a typing test and scoring around 70. All of that is due to Adom and other roguelikes.
Homework is not meant for home! It's a sick verbal coincidence!

I used to type around 50-70, now I type around 70-120, depending on how much stuff I'm carrying, and how much food I ate at lunch:D

Granted, typing is often based on word structure as well. While ADOM might train you on where the W key is, it certainly does not prepare for typing coherent sentences.

n00b-mAsTeR: Lol, nice one.

Adom hasn't helped or hindered my typing; I learned to type quickly in the first place because I had a habit of writing terribly long stories in early grade school - which I then had to transcribe to a computer.

I prefer typing in all cases, since my handwriting is absolutely illegible, I lose alot of points in school due to my handwriting:(

Same here n00b-master, but the coolest thing at my school is that we write everything on computer(laptops, loaned by the school for free), only in my math class we use the old-fashioned notebooks :D

Sounds like a school in my county, they all get laptops, except they get to keep them after the graduate for 100 bucks.

At my school, everything(except doc proc) is on pencil and paper. You must live in a heavily populated area, or burbs, because that's how the high school that has the laptops is, all devolopments, no farms or open forests. I live around corn fields, dairy farms, and everything else good in the world:D

At least you'll grow up strong and healthy :P.
My school is some kind of prototype, only 8 like it in Sweden and it has been open for two years only. The city is pretty small, though, about 120k people.

Yeah, but no offense, in my opinion, most city-folk(except for jocks in their schools) are mostly weak, since the only exercise they have to do is walk on a sidewalk every once in a while. I only have a BMI(body mass index, or fat percentage,15 is normal)of 4, since I walk where I want to go.I once walked 20 miles to a birthday party because my parents refused to give me a ride.

I don't mind walking... I never take the bus to my school, even though I have to walk like 30 min... and about 2-3 years ago when I lived in Norway, the nearest town with a cinema from my house was at about 8km... It never bothered me to walk two hours to the city and then two hours back.
But yeah, you're right, most town people are pretty weak/lame. All that McDonald's and Pizza Hut :P

Us city folk aren't all as weak as you'd believe- i walk around *all* day, ill get up in the morning and walk to town (an hour and a half) then spend the rest of the day doing my job, which involves -walking around all day- :)

and if your up at 5 in the morning you see dozens of people going to the gym and jogging around town.

I'm thankful for portable music and good shoes :)

A BMI of 15 is not normal, it's full-fledged anorexia. 25 is about normal. And a BMI of 4 means you probably weigh below 10 kilograms ;)

Also, the BMI has nothing to do with how much fat is in your body. It uses only your weight and height, in the following formula:

Weight / (Height^2) = BMI

Granted, it's the metric system, it could be that in the States the numbers are different.

Also, the amount of fat in the human body (and its weight) increases with age. So if you're young, it's only natural that you have less fat.

All that aside, I am a city person, and pretty weak physically. I'm a decent chess player, though ;)

Well, for wrestling, they now have to find our muscle percentage,(pincher thingy-ies),hydration level(urine test),weight and height. The problem is that my BMI is very low considering my muscle and low hydration put me in a slightly more dangerous zone. But being on the computer more has lessened my muscle...guess I'll have to lift dumbells while playing adom, lol

(Excerpt from a keylog of an adom session). Yes, it helps typing skills, but only in a very limited context. Namely, that of playing adom. :P
