My precious GE Wizard who has done everything pretty much perfect so far (just past casino). Has lost his wizarding ability for reduced spell costs! I have no idea how it happened. I suddenly noticed that it was costing me 20pp to cast teleport instead of 11pp, I checked that there was plenty of 'knowledge' for Teleport (~2000) then noticed the problem is affecting ALL of my spells. It's not an item related thing - striped my char naked and cleaned out the inventory. And its not some nasty intrinsic, cast Revelation and saw only good things. This is on 1.1.1. The only thing I can think of is that I've hit some kind of overflow bug because of reading too many books (PC2 generated a bookshop which I've cleaned out many times over). Can't be anything to do with the anti-cheating code - I've never even made a backup of the char. Any ideas? |

Just a hunch: it could have something to do with mana battery (IIRC it reduces casting cost by some 20%) or some missing piece of equipment. Can't recall for sure, though. Sytytä toiselle tuli ja hän pysyy lämpimänä jonkin aikaa. Sytytä hänet palamaan ja hän pysyy lämpimänä loppuelämänsä. |

there is a room effect that increases mana cost of spells. maybe that's the problem? |

Thanks guys. And extra thanks to Mewto. Indeed it was Silvernight - I suppose I'm not used to looking for that because I normally play N chars and never get too far. I've switched to C to get Gaab'Baay's quests. Feeling really good about this char, only lvl27 but 550pp thanks to a robe of power (+1,+1) [+2,+6] and the Preserver too. |
