I'm torn between a bunch of them, but I think I'll go with Archers. The huge to hit and to damage bonuses, the range, the slaying ammo, the new ranged weapon talents. You can get off to a really fast start with them, and don't have to worry about much besides Dopplegangers. If you know how to manipulate certain traps and certain enemies, ammunition is not a problem either. Unlike with casters spells, nothing is immune or resistant to missile weapons, just high DV/PV and high HPs, and blessed slaying ammo cuts them down to size quite nicely. Unlike with melee classes, you don't have to risk your HP up close and personal with monsters, stay back and shoot, run away and shoot some more. Runners up include Rangers, Priests, Assasins, and Paladins. My favorite class to play? Hmmm... Always changes. But if my vote would go to the class I think is best, it would either be archer or wizard. You drop the golden ball. You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west. Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?" Which direction? (123456789) 4 Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated. You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd! |

Lacking only the herbalism skill and having the restriction of not being allowed to become burdened. Also, poor starting equipment for a melee fighter. All of which does not make monks less kickass ;) You drop the golden ball. After thinking the question through, I came with my answer: beastfighters. Fine skill selection, very straightforward to play, they cope well with everyday problem of adom chars - food (lots of it from the get-go), weapon destruction (fists are indestructible), finding good spellbooks (because all spellbooks are useless for them anyway) - while still being able to kick butts. |

I don't really have favorites. Fighters however are kinda in a top position for me, and a dark elf paladin is also one of the things I could imagine as my dream character. (\_/) (o.0) (> <) ( / \ ) Don't click this http://www.mindistortion.net/iwantyoursoul/?i_am=Darkcutter |

My favorites are archers, priests and mindcrafters. I like archers for the same reasons Nightmare said. Priests are all around fun plus I love detect item status even though it's completely unnecessary. Mindcrafters are probably the most fun to play if I can get them going. |

Priests because of Healing, Concentration and especially Detect Item Status, which is a sick skill, IMO. They're probably the best hybrid between a wizard and a fighter. For the Horde! |

monk/beastfighter/wizard I like monks and beastfighters because they don't need to use a weapon to be able to kill stuff. Wearing blessed seven league boots on a level 18 monk makes him fly. And the level 13 power is awesome. :D Wizards start with both herbalism and healing + they are good at spellcasting (duh). You steal a broken dagger! The orc misses you. |

Hm, favourite class.... I think wizards are the easiest class of all, so much that I will rarely bother to play one. So they are not my favourite now. Beastfighters start off easy, slight negative about the illiteracy. Monks start off a bit toughter because they usually have bad armor and can die easily. However, not being able to wield a weapon (for beastfighter) is a bit of a drawback. Monks can still wield if they find something nice, beasties just ...can't. And I always find great weapons whenever I play a beastfighter. There are some very nice guaranteed weapons too... Archer is a powerful class, only setback is no healing at start. The class I most like now is assassin. I've never won with one yet, but I want to. They can be played many different ways. Not too easy, either, requires a bit more thinking than a wizard or beastfighter. |

And a definite plus for monks: They are always literate! All this isn't THAT good in practice, as it seems now... :( (\_/) (o.0) (> <) ( / \ ) Don't click this http://www.mindistortion.net/iwantyoursoul/?i_am=Darkcutter |
