What a frustrating suicide! I lost my LV. 34 char in a highly frustarting way. ############### .......@####### #######.####### #######.####### #######.####### My char was in that little space. I book cast magic missile in the south-west direction. What a mistake!! My 450+ Hp were drained in one turn. Couldn't the char realizing he was killing himself by casting that spell? While hitting the space bar and seeing my HP go slowly down, I hoped for a power shortage. Oh well It didn't happen. Now I'll quit ADOM for some time until my frustration passes. I was trying the "no help from God" challenge: 1) No prayer 2) No Sacrifice, thus no crowning 3) No use of altars for status detection or water blessing 4) No potion of uselness gift In darkness there is a light, but you can't see it. As I discovered last night, a power outage WILL NOT save your character. After you start up your computer again and double click on the ADOM icon, it will flash, then dissapear, and you'll have to delete the PRC file to get ADOM to start again. Bye bye level 26 High Elven archer crowned with Suns Messenger, had all 4 Immunities, smithed all her items up, had fire orb ect. What a horrible waste. I really need to learn how to use that cheat program to backup save... You don't need a cheat program, just copy the .svg file from your adom_dat\savedg folder somewhere.. Sorry to hear about your loss of characters, they sound like very good ones at that :( If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. I ONE-SHOTTED the Undead King in the TotHKs!!! With a regular, 1d6 blessed arrow! On the cowardly setting! Hey Nightmare, you misunderstand.... I have a save copy of the char, (I have it in case a power autage or a bug shows up). This is what I meant: If there was a power autage I wouldn't know that my char had died, thus I could restore it and post the (most likely ,sigh...,) victory in the HALL OF FAME withouth feeling guilty. I was writing a cool story about that char.... Well maybe a day I'll restart with him. In darkness there is a light, but you can't see it. |

Morio - straight from the guidebook: "---------------- elven long bow "Sun's Messenger" (+15, +15) --------------- Weight: 30s When used in melee combat it grants a +0 bonus to hit and causes 2d6 points of damage. When used as a missile it grants a +15 bonus to hit and causes 2d6+15 points of damage. It is an undead slayer." Most powerful missile weapon in the game. In addition to the +15 damage, which is amazing, it also gives an additional 2d6. The Undead Slaying property is godly, it's like having unlimited Blessed Arrows of Undead Slaying. Most undead except for the highly experienced higher tier ones will perish in a single hit. I shot a blessed regular 1d6 arrow at the Undead King in the TotHK and it killed him, just like that. This guy has like 50DV, 30PV, and around 250 HPs. ACW dropped in 3 hits with dragon slaying ammo. Not too shabby. I was on track to get Grand Mastery in Bows, had them up to 11 at that point. Ugh. On the bright side, I figured out how to use the file copying and pasting technique to prevent against loss of character in the event of a power surge or windows crash.
