Just spent some time in the PC with an altar in the cavernous level, and got myself some precrowns... First up was Hammer of the Gods... not really what I was hoping for, but ok, try again.... Second up, the dwarven pickaxe. Not the most useful artifacts an elven archer can obtain, but ok, an unbreakable pickaxe is certainly useful, if not exactly game-winning. So this hammer - when does it bestow lightning immunity? Only in missile slot, only in weapon slot? Am thinking it might be quite an interesting change for an elven archer to sling a hammer around, but I would need to find a few more good hammers for when it doesnt return... Or I could just get on with the game and shoot arrows at everything... What do you guys think? |

The hammer of the gods grants lightning immunity as you wield it. Missile slot, I'm not sure. Grab some potions of insight and find out. Arrows and quarrels are still going to be your mean weapons of monster destruction, though. Archers never have too much trouble getting through the game like that. You drop the golden ball. im pretty sure it grants it in ranged. i remember i had 'grod the morning star' in my missile slot, and save scummed to see if it worked if you savescum to find out, be sure it has (granted through an item) or (enhanced through...), otherwise you got it by eating a fire bug or something Everyone beware..
