Never having had a desire to waste my all to rare wishes, I've never been able to try some things when wishing. I'm wondering what happens when you wish for certain things.

On my list are:
Happiness
World peace
Order
*name of diety*
power
fame
the chaos gate to close

Also, I've been kind of curious what would happen if you wished for the name of something mentioned elsewhere in the game.

I'm gonna wish for lubaf, or the scroll of omnipotence (I'm guessing someone has tried that) at some point, but I'm really wondering if anyone has already tried to wish for some or all of these things, and also if you've tried any other odd things with wishing.

Wishing for happiness, world peace, order, deity, fame and the chaos gate to close yielded no messages and no changes. Wishing for power increased my PP from 175 to 206.
I've got a dwarven weaponsmith with a wand of wishing in Dwarftown, if anyone wants a backup copy. He died on D43 to a greater vault of undead :(

"I've got a dwarven weaponsmith with a wand of wishing in Dwarftown, if anyone wants a backup copy."
What's the point when there is a program which lets you have (basically) infinite wishes (unless you get the mana battery corruption and are careless) without any complication or stuff (i.e. unlike WADOMF)?

Don't know, I don't use those programs. And wasn't WADOMF for pre 1.0 versions? Some things have changed between gamma 16 and 1.1.1

Check the ADOM guidebook appendix about wishing, some of your questions are answered there.
You drop the golden ball.
You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west.
Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?"
Which direction? (123456789) 4
Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated.
You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd!
