It adds a bit of strength, so you can add some points of damage in your mind. Use berserk mode with skullcrusher. That increased damage gets multiplied by two against any humanoid, so the tradeoff is almost always worth it. You drop the golden ball. You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west. It's interesting how certain monsters are in multiple "categories", ie a Greater Demon is a demon AND a humanoid, or an Iron Golem is a construct and a humanoid. Or something like that. Humanoid covers everything that's humanoid, construct covers most of the rest important stuff. (elementals, grues) Humanoid, demon and construct should cover everything there is to kill except dragons ;) A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. Heh... oddballs... "The ancient sock is really an uncursed Smelly Boomerang "Oddball Bane". When used in melee combat it grants a +8 bonus to hit and causes 1d3+9 points of damage. When used as a missile it grants a +12 bonus to hit and causes 10d4+9 points of damage. It is a typeless slayer. It is a Donald Sutherland slayer. It grants resistance to confusion attacks."
