OK, I've finally gotten a weaponsmith who I'm happy with. I know where a forge is [in dwarftown], but after a few attempts [with a high skill in smithing], I fail to improve my weapons. What else depends on improving weapons? Is there a certain point when I CAN'T improve weapons? I'm working with a blessed Large Hammer (-1,1d10+2), 5 blessed drakish scurgari of returning (+2,2d6+2), and I have a single blessed iron ingot [I used a couple already, but all I managed to do was make it 'look better' once] Everyone beware.. Seems like you've hit the top for that particular item. You drop the golden ball. You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west. Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?" Which direction? (123456789) 4 Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated. You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd! |

There is no "high" Smithing. There's 100 and "not 100". A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

Sometimes it just apears to be the upper limit for that item. Ive had helms that it took about 40 tries to improve, albiet they were already very smithed, but its possible. |
