Is 26 the highest possible starting LE score?. My last character was generated with LE 26. I didnt use any talents to increase it, this was the initial role with nothing added by me.

I once wrote a script to auto generate characters, and it only accepted characters with Le 22 or above. The highest this script ever produced was 24 (may have had one 25 but dont recall). This script ran thousands of times to generate me good starting characters.

This is the first time I've had 26 LE, and I cant believe just how many castings my DE Wizard gets from one spell book. All I need is an AOLS, and this is a dead cert ULE

Grey and High Elves get +3 more initial Learning then Dark Elves, so 29 would be what you can get

Well after 10 years playing, I'm still learning. Thanks for that. I now need to decide if the +3 Le at start is worth sacrificing Alterness for. Might just switch to High Elves from now on.

If I remember correctly, I rolled a GE druid with
a starting Le stat of 28 for my lithium man game.

What you really want to do is roll a character with the highest possible Mana stat for extra talents... or is +1 the maximum for having 18 or more mana? I was wondering if maybe you got an extra starting talent for 25 mana or something.

You only get one bonus talent from Mana. So no, there is no particular reason to have Mana stats higher than 18 except for the extra PP, which is useful, but not as rewarding as extremely high Learning.
You drop the golden ball.
You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west.
Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?"
Which direction? (123456789) 4
Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated.
You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd!
