My friend (Filippo Romani), have created a immortal character, a troll necromancer.
The ability to chest death of necromancer involve to have toughness >= 10, otherwise the necromancer
die, BUT if you have some item that give some point of toughness (he have "robe of resistance, protector and hammerhead), or bracer of toughness the toughness never descend down to 10, and the necromacer can cheat death infinite time!!!
It work too if the necromacer have only some item that give toughness, but almost +5 or +6 point.
The Hp arrive to 1, but the friend necro is a good spell caster, and immortality is nice =)

New immortal necromancer enjoy whit this =)

Any necromancer with this stuff is immortal. And after many deats (20-30) necro have hp definited by toughtnes stat. And he have lots of hp again;)
Robes of resistance hammerhead and rolfs companion are sufficient equipment to immortality (With this stuff necro in version 1.0.0 have lowest level of toughtnes 22. 11 from stuff and 11 from hmmmmm I have no good idea only some turbid speculations. In version 0.9 gamma 15 with this same stuff becro have To 12 11 from stuff and one his equal of To. And hes lowest level of hp will greater than only 1)
After this 20-30 deaths any death of necro reduced his hp to half, but mx hp is definited by To status and you can eat some corpses (necro have lots of them) to recover your To and hp to level before first death
But immortal necro can be killed when he kicked stairsway, and he can be blobed in small violet j. He can survive starving he will be kiled kiled and kiled but he read SoW. Bug necro still read book when he is kiled and returned from gardens of death. Necro survive when he is crushed by tons of his stuff. He have one tick with status crushed. And he can cast SoA or he die and return and for to infinity. Ahmmm necro return from death with max pp and hp so sometimes beter is die than pray.
But first necro must get 50 level;)

I was looking at this, and this could change the way I look at ultimate chars. But of course it wouldn't be the ultimate, since it couldn't do mindcraft...but it couldn't be killed. But will the revival of necros work with petrification?

Unfortunately, there are still death conditions that can destroy a level 50 necromancer. Petrification would probably put a necromancer out of commission.

Still a pretty cool char to consider making for the longest ID dive, just bring 1 or 2 items of petrification resistance(dunno if there are)

I don't know if anyone has ever read the series of books by Garth Nix,"Sabriel","Lirael", and "Abhorsen".

Either way, the Abhorsens are a line of necromancers who combine the charter(a lawful form of magic) and free magic(necromancy and such)
I think if my paladin dies, I'll try human necro for an ULE.Some things to note:the Abhorsens have a sword that slays the undead, and have a bandolier of bells. I guess a glockenspiel would be close enough to bells. This will make a cool challenge, but I think I won't do an ULE, seeing as how I won't be able to ID dive.

You can't loose the bracers and hammerhead (if you wield hammerhead in the tool or missile slot) because annihilators cannot destroy artifacts, AFAIK, and ratling duelists only disarm you of your weapons :)

Oh sorry, I thought you were talking about the bracers of war. Bracers of toughness can be annihilated.

Bracers of war don't grant toughness, though...

What you only really need is the Orb of Elemental Earth in the tool slot. (Okay, you can't win the game with this, but you can search for the robes of resistance and the other artifacts you need...)
You drop the golden ball.
You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west.
Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?"
Which direction? (123456789) 4
Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated.
You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd!

I'd be damn bored trying to kill monsters if my Necro was weak enough to have to resort to this. Stupidity kills more than actual monster and game difficulty at that point.
